If he/she succeeds you, you are too weak to remain and can die content that your legacy is in capable hands or hooves in this case. 6546435 The pursuit of immortality is an old one and not uncommon to those of us of a nefarious disposition, but we must consider it in a pragmatic point of view. What precisely do we know of the Overlord's capabilites. If does plan to achieve physical immortality and become a physical god, how will he do so? Will he beome a lich, divide his doul and hide it away? Will he merge with a prime element and become it's respective Alicorn or has he some other means of effective immortality. It is a long and often fruitless goal as many villains will attest, posthumously in spite of their best efforts. Until he has the time, abilities and resources to devote to this endeavor, he must hold off all legacy projects, offspring included until total and complete victory is assured. Then he can look for some means of cheating and defying death.
Uh...what about Luna? If he's sleeping with Cadence like this chapter implies, that breaks several other rules and risks backlash from the princess that is firmly behind him.
Sounds like the Evil Overlord is collecting sexy alicorns.

I'd think he'd be looking for a kind of immortality that can't be stolen from him. But certainly, wait until after you're completely sure that all competition has been destroyed.

6546568 I too would be interested to know what is Luna's opinion regarding her master sleeping with the alicorn of love, but I can't think of any rules that are broken or at least challenged by this at the moment.
After all, Luna was in fact forced or at least manipulated into marrying him so what is to prevent the evil overlord from doing the same thing to make her accept Cadance as part of the relationship in some way.
And is she another wife or a concubine or something else? I expect future chapters will explain all that.

This, this right here shows that your Evil Overlord is just not up to snuff. Marrying Luna, an enemy, was one thing. Keeping around Cadance, after you killed her husband, relying on something as mercurial as her insanity continuing? No. That's just asking for a knife in the back.

Depends on how many guards he has watching them. And other security measures he no doubt takes. I doubt Luna is amused, though. She seems the sort to want her husband to be faithful to her even if he forced her into the marriage literally at gunpoint.
