Yes, Rainbow Dash did indeed die in the first chapter. The 'Rainbow' that is talking to Pinkie Pie in the second chapter is actually Pinkie Pie herself. She is projecting her 'good side' onto Rainbow Dash, believing her still alive. There are subtle hints to this through out the second chapter, foreshadowing the third.
Well there goes my heart. its not like the last time when it decided to jump out the window this time it was a high rise. yeah the story is that sad nice work.
