It's not the first time I've seen it, Lunafyre -- or whatever name she goes by these days, since I think I saw something about her changing her name on Deviant Art -- had it happen, though it was something of a rebound since the fic she wrote was Twi and Dashie becoming lovers as a continuation of Ebon's In the Rain, both of them were a bit heartbroken that Twi and Dash were lovers since they both had loved Dash until then.
The story plot thickens even more

712283 Spectrum has a cobalt blue coat and the same rainbow mane and tail. Cobalt and Dash met and fell in love in the 'fanon' where I had AJ and Fluttershy fall in love with each other. Rarity met the stallion of her dreams, but he died protecting her from a monster in the Everfree Forest. Twilight, well, she met a stallion, but he turned out to be a monster in disguise (the same one that killed Rarity's coltfriend). Pinkie Pie had a stallion and a mare trying for her attention, but in the end, those two fell for each other, but remained good friends with Pinkie.
I no longer have any of those stories, which is a shame because I would have loved to clean them up and post them.

scoots is my fav the idea of rainbowdash not being a natural rainbow is cool but one of my unpublished fanfic "Natural Rainbow' is kind of based off of her being a natural rainbow maned gal. personally i love spectrum and look forward to this new story. i am very disapointed that moon and scoots are seperated tho
