Rarity and Applejack are detectives in the small town of Ponyville, a town gripped in fear of the 'Rune Shredder', a mysterious and sadistic entity who violently kills innocent ponies in the dead of night. The two of them must not only figure out who is responsible for these acts of careful and gruesome murder, but solve many other cases in their small town. Helping them is Pinkie, their Forensic officer with insane perception, and many other familiar characters.

This story is quite violent, and not really for the weak of heart. Also, cover image is by me.

Here's how the story's being organised: Each chapter will be an entire case, unless it's:
1) A really big one which may span 2 chapters
2) An interlude that has no crimes within it, though these'll be a chapter at most.
3) The finale. Because everpony needs a finale.

Eli

The only crime here is for you not to continue this masterpiece!

I just love the cigarette scene, the chemistry between Aj and Rarity was so undeniably endearing!

Waiting eagerly for the next chapter

Well, that was a long chapter. And great fun to write.

Oh, and if anyone has any ideas for crimes, cases and whatnot I'll be willing to listen to them. If the story is complete at the time you say so, I'll make it an extra chapter. Or maybe even include it in a potential sequel

That was an awesome chapter. I speak for a lot of people here when I say I DEMAND MORE.

1647313 Good thing I'm enjoying writing this.

Well either that was the ranting of a madman or he'r right about RS. Either way, seems like things got more complicated.

So. When can we expect more of this?

Well that was an amusing day of interaction for AJ and Rarity. Should make things interesting later.

That's interesting. To bad it didn't get them closer to the shredder but hey they stopped a murderer.

Hmm, I feel like a squid guy should be shouting "It's a trap!" as I finished reading this. I'm gonna see what happens next time cuz I doubt things are as black and white as what this looks like.

Gosh, I love this story :pinkiegasp:
Never thought tragedy, darkness and an alternate universe mixed up with the cute ponies we know could be so damn amusing :rainbowkiss:
Great work you're doing with this :raritywink:

Not a bad chapter, but a couple of points I have to mention:

-Sweetie Belle almost seems too casual about being yelled at. Surely being yelled at isn't a good thing, even when you're "used to it". Perhaps change the word to 'snapped' to imply it's a short, violent exclamation rather than an extended rant.
-"Much to the two racers' surprise, the event had been changed into a race." Something seems off about this line. Isn't the Running of the Leaves a race normally? And why would a pair of racers be surprised about it turning into a race?
-Trixie seems a little carbon-copy to me. She's got that sort of 'tsundere' thing going to probably too high a level, and her tactic for winning the race seems too similar to Twilight's.

Other than that, good job. Also, the line "Then gravity did a 180" was priceless.

2468085 I've altered the stuff I can, though it's a little too hard to change the bit with Trixie because it's a little too ingrained into the narrative. Don't worry, Trixie won't always be so simply-written

Looks like our favorite crime fighters can't have a moment of peace. Well like they say, no rest for the wicked.

Having just reread this story, I already want more of it.

You know what this means, right bro?
