Twilight Sparkle is not an artist.

At least, that's what she tells herself. But when Twilight is invited to compete against the world's greatest authors in one of the Equestrian Writer's Society's monthly competitions, she finds herself thrown horn-first into the terrifying world of creative writing—a world that she knows absolutely nothing about. Now, armed with nothing but some anxiety and a crippling case of writer's block, Twilight has to write the story of the century, or risk becoming a literary laughingstock.

That is, unless a certain fashionista has something to say about it.

This story was originally written for the Writeoff Association's June Contest, "A Matter of Perspective."

Thank you for writing this story.

Especially for that ending.

No romance. Just mud.

Words to live by if I ever saw them.

Besides that, this was a really good read. It really resonated with me, seeing as I have far more fun writing nonsense stories than I do with writing stories with actual plotlines and drama. The characters really felt like themselves, and I enjoyed your depiction of Rarity's alternate artist persona. It made me chuckle quite a bit.

The ending also felt really appropriate, if a bit bittersweet.

I'm definitely looking forward to going back and reading more of your work.

Wow.

This hits the feeling head on. I like how you used Rarity as the mentor, seeing as she probably has the most experience with creatively themed competitions.

I really like this rarity.

“That’s not what I mean.” Rainbow turned to Twilight. “Yeah, I like Cloudsdale and all, but I hated my home. As soon as I left school, I got out of there, and I never looked back.”

Um, Dash, is there something you'd like to talk about? Any bad feelings in your tummy?
