DemonBrightSpirit

I dream of a man whose hopes never end.

Many decades ago—perhaps even centuries now—a realization hit me. To this day it haunts my thoughts. Time has us all in its thrall. Though my body may resist its ever-present pestilence, that does not make me immune to the inevitable decay.

I keep these troubling thoughts locked away, hidden where no eye may cast its gaze on them. But that does not mean that they do not exist, or that they do not weigh heavily on my mind. Every so often they come back to plague me, to remind me that even I cannot escape time. All I can do is mitigate the erosion; it's all anypony can do.

Thanks to my pre-readers WickedLSDragon and Regina Wright. A big thank you goes out to Cerulean Voice for editing.

I don't know whether to be surprised or disturbed by the train of thought portrayed. Though it does mirror my own concern when I went through my religious questioning phase when I was younger.

Does a being that lives for so long become numb of life's pleasures that they become ultimately bored/ unresponsive to emotions?
When said being reach said point do they become a sort of psychopath, with only the most absurd experiences become anything of interest?

Though more recent I wonder if such affect is the cause for discord`s (to which like Q`s situation as a cosmic being) own personality and why they crave the crazy and chaotic events. But such is a conversation for more lasting being`s I suppose...

Oh hey, it's that wallpaper I made. Funny how those things drift around the internet.

6406990 I should be thanking you then. I certainly hope that you don't mind my using it.

Disconcerting but intriguing, It is a rare thing to see the numbness potential of immortal life examined.

I kinda wish there was more, if only to see what path it takes.

Nah, I don't mind, as long as no one's trying to take credit for my work. It's hard to know sometimes.
