Chapter 78: Unwanted Reunion
Inside what was left of the room that a certain Alicorn slept in, the five weary Changeling solders managed to recover from the former princesses’ explosive exit.
“Urrgh. You all still alive?” One Changeling asked his comrades.
“I’ve been…better,” One answered. Joined by another.
“What even just happened?”
One of the remaining recovering solders noticed the state of the bed.
“Hay! That pony’s gone!”
“How? We blocked her magic. Didn’t we?”
As the four Changelings squabbled on what had happened, the leader of the five reminded them of their mission.
“Never mind her. The boss has given us a job to do. Now let’s get going.”
Understanding what they needed to do, the other Changelings nodded in agreement before following the leader out of the room.

“Well. This is interesting to see,” Discord commented. Barely awake after his fight.
A fated reunion most unwelcome had befallen the city of Canterlot. After miraculously rescuing the Cutiemark Crusaders from certain death, Ayumi, the Twilight from an alternate future timeline, stood face to face with Diaboromon. The Alicorn stood motionless with the mixture of hate and horror in her eyes. Seeing the evil Digimon standing in front of her, as if it was the first time again, caused the mare’s mind to fluctuate uncontrollably. Memories of her nightmare past clashed with the countless questions in her head. But rather than being blinded by the rambling in her mind, she focused on what was standing in front of her. WHO was standing in front of her. On the side-lines, the group were unable to utter a word. For them, they had no idea what Ayumi was going through. Though she had destroyed the evil Mega in her world, the horrors that he had inflicted had left a permanent scar on her mentality. But to see the very same Digimon again, alive and in their own world, they could only imagine the kind of trauma the future Twilight was going through. Twilight, Celestia and Cadence especially felt concerned. The expressions on Ayumi’s face was all they needed to see. Furthermore, whatever pony was around expressed looks of confusion. In their eyes, the new arrival looked just like an older Twilight. The same could be said for the onlooking Changelings. Baffled at the sight.
But the one who was the most intrigued by the revelation was the evil Mega level Digimon himself.
“Very interesting.”
Then to the surprise of the watching group, Diaboromon began to move towards Ayumi. Even causing the future Alicorn to flinch in response. But continued to remain still as she kept her sights locked onto him. Then like a prowling tiger, the huge Digimon began to circle around the still mare. His piercing yellow eyes examining every detail of the pony. Even then, Ayumi refused to lose sight of the Mega. Being completely dwarfed by him while feeling his every step through the vibrations in the ground. Her breathing grew heavier as her heart began to race. Her anxiety grew from hearing his demonic-like breath.
‘How!? Isn’t Black being here what separates my world to this one!? Then why is HE here too!?’ Ayumi thought to herself as the Mega circled her. Questioning as to why there was another Diaboromon.
As he finished circling around Ayumi, Diaboromon stood still as his complex mind tried to figure out the new arrival. Analysing every possible scenario.
“Hmm. You have the same magic and cutiemark, so you’re not an imposter. Yet you’re not exactly identical. Older even. Rules out using the Mirror Pool.”
He then took note of Ayumi’s expression. To which peaked his interest the most.
“But that face. Those eyes. The look of someone… who had seen hell itself.”
Then realising that the look of such anguish was aimed directly at him, it caused him to grin in response.
“As well as the devil who brought it. Yes…”
With his mind like a supercomputer, Diaboromon deciphered the situation. As well as who the new arrival was.
“You’re not just Twilight. But from the future. No! Another timeline.”
The onlooking Changelings and their queen stuttered from what they heard. Before them was another Twilight, but from another reality. But some were more startled from the fact that Diaboromon was able to figure it out far quicker than any of them.
Silence filled the air as Ayumi’s hate-filled glare kept a lock on the Digimon as he spoke. Her body trembling from hearing his voice again. It was just as cold-hearted as she remembered. As she steadied herself, she gave her reply.
“That’s right. I am once Twilight Sparkle from my own Equestria. The one I call home.”
She then added a fact that sent a wave of fixed feelings to all the souls who could hear her. With a voice cold and stern.
“A home that you destroyed.”
Those who weren’t aware of Ayumi’s past quietly gasped in shock. Being the nearest, Chrysalis and her Changelings were particularly shaken. Diaboromon however seemed rather pleased.
“Oh? Did I now?”
While keeping her hateful glare, Ayumi spoke more in detail at what had happened in her Equestria.
“You emerged to claim my home for yourself. And you destroyed everything that stood in your way. Homes. Towns. Entire cities reduced to rubble. And the ponies. The old. The young. My friends. My family. You…you slain them all!”
As she continued, her expression of anguish became more visible for all to see. Some of the Changelings felt a cold shiver from seeing such eyes.
“But you didn’t stop there. Every other creature suffered because of you. All of them are gone.”
With such a new discovery being presented, Queen Chrysalis had to speak up on behalf of her kind.
“And what of myself and my hive? Surely we’ve…”
She paused her sentence the second Ayumi glanced over to her. And for a brief moment, the queen saw that under the gaze of hate, was a hint of sorrow. Chrysalis froze as she felt a sharp pain within her very being. The fact that not even her own kind had survived.
Which begged the question. What would happen to her!?
Disregarding the stunned Changelings, Ayumi turned her sights back to Diaboromon. Who’s smile had never left his face.
“Hmm. Sounds like the future I wish to bring. And yet…you survived?”
Ayumi made her response.
“I’ve spent years in hiding. Preparing. And in that time, you were given many names by the others. The Nameless Horror. The Devil Incarnate. The Demon from Beyond. The Beast Bellow. Some even called you Death itself.”
“Fascinating. I’ve been called many names. But never Death. I quite like it.”
The Mega’s expression became more inquisitive at one of the spoken titles.
“But… Nameless Horror?”
Ayumi then gave the reason for such a name.
“That’s because through it all, we never knew your name.”
The Digimon’s eyes lit up at the reply.
“Is that right? That certainly explains why YOU were so certain to know my name, Twilight,” He said as he turned his sights over to the present Twilight. Reminding the mare with what happened not long after his arrival to the surface.
His words caused Ayumi to glance over to Twilight in complete surprise.
“What!? He.. told you his name!?”
Despite being surprised by Ayumi’s outburst, Twilight understood perfectly why she acted that way.
“Y-Yes he did. His name is…!”
“Wait!!”
Twilight flinched in surprise by Ayumi’s second outburst. She knew that her alternate self always wanted to know the name of the Digimon that destroyed her home. So why did she make her stop?
She then got her answer. Just as Ayumi snapped back at the huge Digimon before her.
“I want to hear it from him!”
The answer was clear. Ayumi wanted the hear the name of the Digimon straight from his own mouth. Seeing how desperate she was, the Mega began to toy with her.
“Hmhmhm. How frustrating it must’ve been for you. To have your home eradicated by me. And never once knew my name.”
Seething in anger, Ayumi demanded to know.
“TELL ME!!!”
Silence followed as her echoing cry dies down. The Digimon grinned in satisfaction at how quickly he got under her skin. Showing that she truly does despise him. But, keen on seeing how she would react, he finally gave her the answer that she had longed for.
“Alright then.”
He then shifted his stance. Trying to look the most imposing as he could to scare all that looked upon him.
“My name… is Diaboromon!”
Ayumi’s eyes widened from finally hearing the name. Already burning it into her very psyche. She would never forget such a name. Her expression grew colder even more.
“Diaboromon. Even your name sounds vile!”
The Digimon chuckled in response. Treating the insult as a form of flattery. He then moved onto a subject that he was keen to understand.
“Now begs the question. Why are you here? That face shows that you weren’t expecting me at all. Did you run away?”
His words struck a cord in Ayumi. Making her seem like a coward who fled her home. But knowing what exactly happened in her time, she grew confident as she spoke back.
“I didn’t run. Because there was no threats left back home. Because I destroyed you.”
From the shift in his eyes, Diaboromon was seen admittedly surprised by such a claim. Rearing his head back as his voice took on a curious tone.
“Destroyed…me? You?”
Ayumi began to smile as she explained herself. Almost relishing in the moment when she ended the life of the Diaboromon in her world. As well as hoping that her tale would bring fear to the Diaboromon before her.
“That’s right. It wasn’t easy, but it’s true. I took all the power I had, unleashed it on you and reduced you to nothing. Not a trace of you left.”
The onlooking group felt a little unnerved at Ayumi’s words. Both her tone and her smirk showed a hint of joy at the mention of the monster’s end. Even the onlooking Changelings were surprised by her story.
‘She destroyed the master in her world? But how? He’s so powerful.’ Chrysalis thought to herself. Trying to understand how it was possible.
For a second, Diaboromon himself was skeptical. That was until the senses of a Mega level Digimon worked its magic. He could feel the energy within her. Predictably was her magic. But quite the abundance of it. All enhanced by a magical artefact that greatly resembles the Element of Magic. But there was something else he was sensing. He could feel data within her. But the energy didn’t belong to just any other Digimon.
“I wouldn’t have believed you. If not for the data I feel within you. HIS data. MY data.”
Most of the pony group quietly gasped in realisation. While they already knew that Ayumi had to absorb the Digimon’s data to grow stronger, but to find out that it belonged to Diaboromon himself. It got them thinking. Did that meant by doing so, the alternate Twilight became part Diaboromon?
Despite believing Ayumi’s words, it didn’t shudder the confident Mega in the slightest.
“Using my own energy against me. Was that how you were able to kill me? Twilight?”
The Alicorn gritted her teeth from hearing him uttering her old name.
“That’s my old name. I had to change it while I was in hiding. I go by Ayumi now.”
Diaboromon looked puzzled at her in response.
“A…yu…mi? Such a strange name.”
His grin returned when he spoke on.
“If your future had already been sealed, then my plan of conquest is guaranteed. Thank you for the warning. Ayumi.”
Without any hint of a warning, a yellow energy blast immediately fired from Diaboromon’s chest orb. Exploding from landing a direct hit on Ayumi. Letting lose a plume of smoke that shrouded the immediate area.
The onlooking ponies gasped in horror by the unprovoked attack. The mare looked as though she didn’t even get a chance to protect herself.
“Ayumi!” Twilight called out. Concerned that her alternate self had gotten hurt.
The Changelings stood firm from the suspense as Diaboromon chuckled in satisfaction. Believing that he made his intentions clear. But then through the smoke, a bright flash of purple light could be seen within. Then what came next was a powerful blast of magical energy. Speeding like a cannonball, the magic attack slammed into Diaboromon. The Mega grunted as the attack pushed him back into a building behind him. Exploding afterwards.
All eyes grew wide in complete surprise. For both the ponies and Changelings, Diaboromon was shown to be an unstoppable force of evil. With a body indestructible to their magic. Yet just one attack from Ayumi seemed to have flipped the scenario with HIM being struck back. Even ChaosBlackWarGreymon was admittedly stunned by the sight.
Another flash of purple light caught their attention. As the smoke cloud vanished, Ayumi revealed herself. But as she stood upon a magic symbol that resembled the Element of Magic, her body had transformed. With the exception of Twilight and Spike, everypony else was stunned at Ayumi’s new form. Coated in armour, her fur changed to dark purple in colour, her horn became curved and crystal-like and black and purple smoke venting from her body. But to them, the most striking change was that while her right wing was black in colour, the other wing resembled more of a dragon. The Changelings began to feel intimidated by the sudden change. Ayumi looked as though she was not to be messed with.
Twilight held her breath. Knowing that her alternate future self underwent her first transformation.
As Ayumi glared with curiosity at the cloud of smoke in front of her, the said dust cloud cleared. Revealing Diaboromon plastered against the cracked wall. Despite the image shown, the Mega soon revealed that he was unfazed. Slowly dropping down from the wall and landed back on all fours. The entire time his yellow eyes never blinked. But his smile only grew twice as big before he spoke.
“Yes. I can feel it. The power within you. The power that you unleashed. That was the power of a Digimon alright. My…power.”
To the discomfort of everyone, he began to cackle in amusement. He then snapped his head in Ayumi’s direction with the expression of deranged hysteria.
“TO THINK THAT YOU GAVE UP BEING A PONY JUST TO KILL ME!!! TAKING THE POWER OF YOUR OWN ENEMY!!!”
Diaboromon began to let lose the laughter of a demonic madman. Scaring most while leaving others confused. All the while seeing him laughing at Ayumi’s face. Despite launching the first attack, even she was feeling unsettled by Diaboromon’s behaviour. While laughing like a lunatic, Diaboromon grabbed his head with his right hand. Looking as though he was loosing his mind. Then the laughing stopped. As his sights locked onto Ayumi, his grin remained as he spoke to her.
“Do you know what you have done? You stupid girl. A pony with powers of a Digimon is unheard of. Blasphemy! And you dare stand before your god! An abomination like you should be purged by my hands!”
The group all felt uncertain at what was happening. But they knew one thing. Ayumi had become Diaboromon’s sole target. As for Ayumi herself, she was baffled at how the Digimon spoke.
“You’re insane! Even more so than the one I faced!”
Her horn glowed bright in response to her mental command. Her magic building up along with the data within her very being.
“You seem to have forgotten what I just said!”
Her eyes and cutiemark began to glow bright along with her horn. The energy within growing higher with each passing second. The symbol of her Element of Harmony revealed on her chest. Glowing along with her entire being.
“I killed you before!! AND I’LL KILL YOU AGAIN!!!”
After Ayumi’s declaration of war, her body began to float above the ground. To which was followed by an explosion of purple light from her body. The light began to circle around the Alicorn. Her magic being overflowed with data. For Diaboromon, it was a sight all to familiar. The sight of Digivolution. His grin only grew more as the sphere expanded and descended back to the ground.
When the light faded, Ayumi was revealed to all with a brand-new body. While maintaining her pony features, she stood upright with her front hooves replaced with hands. Adorned with metallic gauntlets. Her tail became draconic as black and white flames parked around her body. With her new posture, the transformed Ayumi had risen to be roughly a third of Diaboromon’s size.
As for the onlooking ponies, most were in complete awe at what they were seeing.
“She looks so cool!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed. Immediately becoming a fan of Ayumi’s new look.
Shining Armor and Cadence were certainly taken back by the new look. While it was unusual, it still felt like Twilight.
Despite the newfound upbeat feeling within the group, it was quickly replaced with suspense as they saw Ayumi’s expression. Despite her heightened power, she was still glaring pure hatred at Diaboromon. Not hiding how much she despised him.
As for the Mega, his expression changed to one of startlement. Looking at the transformed mare in surprise. Ayumi began to grin. Believing what was to come next. Something that she was hoping for.
But her eyes went wide when, to her surprise, Diaboromon’s toothy grin returned. Chuckling madly as his pupils shrunk considerably.
‘What,’ She thought to herself as her expression matched her thoughts.
The Mega then raised his left arm towards the Changelings. Giving a command.
“No one interfere! She’s mine!!”
Doing as their master said, Chrysalis and her hive settled down. Not like they could do anything to the empowered Alicorn anyway. ChaosBlackWarGreymon stood firm as he looked at Ayumi with uncertainty.
As for Ayumi herself, she was startled by something she was not expecting.
‘Something’s not right! When I used this form against him in my world, he was outright terrified of me! Panicking that he couldn’t do anything to me! So why!? Why is this one smiling!?’
She shook her head to recompose herself.
‘No. It has to be some mental trick. There’s no way he can beat me now. I’ll will beat him! And this time, I will save this world!’
She then thought of BlackWarGreymon. To which made her smile slightly.
‘Sorry Black. But I’ll be taking this victory.’
The ponies on the side-lines held firm as they watched what could be one of the most intense battles they had ever seen. And for good reason. After learning everything about what the alternate Twilight had been through, they knew that she would not hold back. Not for who she was about to fight.
‘Background music’ ‘Frailty by PrinceWhateverer’
A suspenseful silence filled the area as Ayumi and Diaboromon stared down at each other. The transformed Alicorn clenched her fists within her gauntlets. Readying to charge. The monstrous Digimon was ready to charge too. Much like a prowling cat, he crouched down on all fours. His chest just hovering above the ground as he long green limbs tensed up. Ready to launch himself. All the witnesses gulped from the nerves. Having absolutely no idea how the fight will playout. But for Ayumi herself, it was an event she was about to repeat the second time.
Letting out an angry grunt, the transformed Alicorn launched off the ground to make a full sprint. Likewise, Diaboromon roared as he too took off. Violently shaking the ground as he moved with terrifying speed. Running on all fours with each thundering step.
The two raced towards each other. Diaboromon ready for a full body tackle as Ayumi did the same. But aided by her magic. A powerful shockwave rocketed the two as they collided. Ayumi was the first to recover from being staggered and launched the first attack. A hard armoured left punch to the Digimon’s face. Followed by several more blows to the chest and a hard kick. To the amazement of the onlookers, the devil-like Mega staggered back from the barrage. Reeling in response. As he tried to recover and reach his arms to grab her, Ayumi froze him with her magic. Holding him in place before with effort, threw her arms out to launch him aside. Not giving him a moment to breath, Ayumi grunted loudly as she fired a concentrated beam of magic from her horn. Pointing directly as her foe. The attack struck Diaboromon and pushed him into a wall. Clouds of dust and debris flew as he collided into solid brick.
But as Ayumi watched the wall crumble and the dust settle, Diaboromon was revealed to be unharmed. What’s more, his smile remained plastered on his demonic face. He then began to chuckle. Then as he spoke up, excitement was evident in his voice.
“Yes! YEESSSSS!!! NOW THIS IS A FIGHT!!!”
Diaboromon then launched off the ground and into the air. With a mighty flap of her transformed wings, Ayumi followed. Creating a blast of air from her take-off. Both digital chest orb and Alicorn horn glowed bright from the pair as the two drew close. If one would pause the scene, they would see the heroic mare charging towards the looming Mega as he glared down at her. A bright explosion followed as the two combatants collided. Diaboromon plummeted to the ground before catching himself with his huge hands. Landing back on his feet as Ayumi dove to the ground before levelling out. Beelining him grunting with her right fist ready to attack. But as she launched her punch, the monstrous Digimon rose his left hand up to catch the attack. The sheer force of the punch resulted in a blast wave that shock the ground behind the Digimon. But the beast himself was unaffected.
Diaboromon then surprised Ayumi by clenching his hand onto her outstretched wrist. Proceeding to spin her around to launch her back into the air. Only to follow his onslaught by firing his Web Wrecker attack. After recovering from being flung, Ayumi was quick to throw her arms in front of her to form a magical barrier around her. The energy attack struck the barrier with such force it forced her back. But not enough to shatter the barrier.
As Ayumi landed back on the ground, the onlookers gasped in amazement at what they saw. The first time they seen any creature lasting more than a single minute against Diaboromon’s might.
As for the Digimon himself, he seemed full of glee as he faced down the transformed mare.
“Impressive. You managed to withstand that attack.”
He then let out a sinister grin before he spoke on.
“Here. Let’s see if you can handle THIS speed!”
With his chest orb glowing bright, Diaboromon fired a volley of energy attacks. The rapid-fire Web Wrecker aimed directly at Ayumi. But with her mastery of her Element of Magic, Ayumi’s body shined purple as she launched herself towards the onslaught of hellfire. Zigzagging through the attacks with unparalleled precision. Eventually reaching the origin of the attacks, Ayumi slammed into Diaboromon’s chest orb. The huge Digimon grunted loudly from the sudden impact. Ayumi followed her attacks by slamming her armoured fist against the Digimon’s chin. Flinging his head back from the recoil. She then spun around and slammed her draconic tail against the Mega’s chest. Forcing him back again.
“Yeah! Kick his butt like you mean it!” Rainbow Dash cheered.
She want the only one. All the other ponies were happy to see the beast from below being on the back foot. Some even feeling that hope had finally made a comeback for them. The Changelings too were stunned at the sight of their master taking the brunt of the attacks. Some of them even mentally thinking that him being killed off would bring peace to their hive. But out of the lot, Twilight, Cadence, Luna and Chrysalis felt uneasy. Not only was Diaboromon not taking visible damage, but he was also hardly even attacking back. ChaosBlackWarGreymon was simply watching the duelling pair in silence. His eyes filled with a mixture of emotions.
Then as Ayumi flew in with a kick, Diaboromon quickly grabbed her right outstretched leg with his right hand. Only to spin her around again and threw her in the direction of one of Canterlot’s towers. Stopping herself from smashing into the tower, Ayumi hovered in place as she glared down at her hated foe. Seeing his target, Diaboromon threw both his arms towards Ayumi. Ten sharp red claws tearing through the sky. Seeing such a sight caused the mare to cross her arms to prepare a counter. But to her surprise, the hands parted ways so that the pair flew either side of Ayumi. Turning her head around, she saw that the claws impaled the tower behind her. Then from seeing how tense the stretched arms had suddenly become, it caused the transformed Alicorn to believe that the Digimon was going to pull the tower itself on top of her! Ayumi responded by turning to face the tower with the same crossed arms position. Expecting the tower to fall on her. But to her confusion, the arms suddenly became limp. Recoiling back towards the impaled hands. Her eyes widened in alarm from realising what had just happened. Turning around, the mare was startled to see Diaboromon hurtling towards her!
Using the tower as an anchor, combined with the elastic nature of his arms, Diaboromon turned himself into a living slingshot! Launching himself towards Ayumi at frightening speed!
Having no time to dodge, Ayumi was forced to use a barrier spell around her body to take the impact head on. Diaboromon collided headfirst into the transformed pony’s body. And then into the tower itself. Crashing straight through brick and tile like nothing as he exited the tower with such explosive force.
Battling among the rooftops, Ayumi and Diaboromon continued to battle. The former using her wings while the latter leaped from one roof to another. All the while launching attacks while dodging each other’s. At one point, the Digimon’s Web Wrecker struck the former princesses’ chest. But thanks to the durability of her second transformation due to the data within her, she shrugged it off with little difficulty.
The battle could just be seen from below. Both Celestia and Luna grew worried for Ayumi. Hoping that her mentality was just as strong as her new body.
Back at the fight, Diaboromon leapt high through the air and managed to tackle Ayumi. Then quickly grabbing the transformed mare with both his hands. Holding her in place, his words quickly causing the fire within her to burn.
“You’re only delaying the inevitable!”
He continued to grasp her tightly in his grip as both he and Ayumi began to freefall back down towards the rooftops.
“All will fall beneath my might!”
Ayumi began to envision it. The evil Mega laying waste to all that stood in his way. Be it all creatures big and small. Strong and weak. All helpless victims of the heartless Digimon. But to her, such a vision had already become reality. She had already seen such devastation before her very eyes. All the works of the Diaboromon from her own Equestria.
But facing with another Diaboromon, in another Equestria that she called her new home, such a horrific fate should never be repeated. Such a thought caused her temper to quickly fade away. Her eyes and cutiemark glowing bright purple from the rapid build-up of energy. Even the smoke escaping her body had a purple tinge to them.
Her rapid fury matched perfectly with her response.
“NO!!! I WON’T LET YOU!!!”
A powerful blast of magic caused Diaboromon to loosen his grip on Ayumi. Leaving the freed mare to deliver a magically charged kick to his gut. Sending the large beast hurtling higher into the sky. Then like a speeding comet, Ayumi’s glowing form slammed into Diaboromon’s seemingly helpless body. knocking him around with attacks so strong that the impacts were like sonic booms. After knocking him higher into the darkened skies, Ayumi teleported above him with her horn burning bright. A long thin blade of pure energy emitted from her horn like a giant purple sword.
“NOT THIS TIME!!!”
Throwing her head down, Ayumi smashed the energy blade into Diaboromon. While the blade shattered upon impact, the attack itself smacked the Digimon back down to earth. Diving down after him, the enraged mare fired a concentrated beam of magic from both her hands and her horn. The triple magic beam attack struck Diaboromon in the chest as it pushed him down further while trying to inflict as much harm to him as possible. But seeing a flagpole sticking out of one of the tower walls, Diaboromon was quick to launch one of his arms down towards it. After grabbing a firm hold of the horizontal pole, the Digimon used his momentum, gravity and his elastic-like arm to make a counter. He swung around to launch himself back up. Slamming the surprised Ayumi with his left foot and even squashing her against his own black barrier surrounding the city. Causing the barrier to crack from the force.
Despite having the air momentarily knocked out of her, Ayumi remained undeterred in her resolve to prevent another doomsday of a future.
“I…WILL SAVE THEM!!!”
Firing a point-blank blast of magic, Ayumi launched the huge Mega off her. Then by igniting her body in bright purple light, then even separating herself into separate parts. The six balls of purple light sped through the air to all tackle the flailing Digimon. Then after knocking him back up into the air, the six lights converged back into one above him. As Ayumi emerged from the light, she raised her hands above her head and formed a massive ball of destructive purple magic. After giving Diaboromon a look of pure fury, she threw her attack down upon him. The purple energy ball exploded upon striking the Mega. Sending him hurtling back down to earth once again. Then as she dived down after him, to the amazement of the onlookers, Ayumi threw her hands down and launched magical energy disks that greatly resembled her own cutiemark. As if they were like homing shurikens, they flew down and struck Diaboromon. Seemingly as if they cut went straight through his body.
Admittingly feeling Ayumi’s attacks and descending down to the ground fast, Diaboromon fired his Web Wrecker attack before stretching his right arm up. The energy attack struck Ayumi’s left hand as she was powering up another attack. Stunning her with the sudden blast. With is outstretched arm, the evil Mega grabbed a hold of the transformed mare by the shoulder before spinning around to throw her down towards the ground.
Unable to fly out of her forceful descent, Ayumi adjusted her body to land on her feet. But the sheer force of her fall caused the ground beneath her to crack as well as letting out a loud boom from the impact.
But as she began to stand up straight, her ears caught the sound of her own voice calling out to her.
“ABOVE YOU!!!” Twilight cried out to warn her other self.
Heeding the warning and looking up, Ayumi saw a roaring Diaboromon falling down towards her with his right fist reared back and clenched tight. The mare had only a second to dodge out of the way. Leaving the huge Digimon to smash his fist into the ground where she once stood. The punch powerful enough to create a large crater from the point of impact and letting loose a shockwave.
Briefly caught in the shockwave, Ayumi tumbled across the ground before quickly righting herself back onto her feet. Then with her horn glowing bright, she yelled loudly before charge towards the massive beast. Channelling tremendous amount of magic into her right armoured fist. Diaboromon responded with a loud grunt before throwing his left fist out. The two punches collided into one another. Ayumi’s magically enhanced blow, combined with Diaboromon’s sheer power, resulted in a release of a blast wave so strong that it formed a crater beneath the two. Ripping solid concrete apart and releasing a cloud of dust concealing the two.
The pony group grew concerned from not seeing through the dust cloud. Hoping that Ayumi was not hurt in the exchange. But blasts of air soon dispersed the cloud. The cause being both Ayumi and Diaboromon fighting up close and personal. The transformed mare delivered a punch to the Digimon’s sides and face. The Mega responded by launching his right hand out. Colliding into Ayumi and then squashing her against a brick wall. Causing it to break. Surprisingly unharmed but angered by the attack, Ayumi teleported out of his grip and leapt towards him. Spinning to swing her tail across the Digimon’s face. But as she attempted to do so again, Diaboromon launched his head forward to headbutt Ayumi. Knocking her back. The transformed Alicorn recovered and tried to tackle him. But after dodging her charge, he lunged down to bite Ayumi by the tip of her tail. His sharp teeth dug in to get a firm grip before flinging his head aside like a wild animal. Hurtling the surprised Ayumi aside.
After getting back up and forcing back the pain in her tail, Ayumi wasted no time in firing a blast of magic towards Diaboromon. The latter jumped to dodge before firing a blast of digital energy at the former. Ayumi crossed her harms to block the worst of the attack. The force of the blast pushed her back by a couple of feet.
As the two got distance between themselves, they prepared to clash once more. Diaboromon’s chest orb glowed bright as Ayumi’s horn and fists shined in vibrant dark purple light.
“WEB WRECKER!!!” Diaboromon shouted as he fired his signature attack. At the same time as Ayumi who fired a twin beam attack from her open palms.
The two attacks collided in the middle. The twin purple beams of magic wrestling against the yellow orb of destruction as sparks of energy escaped from the clash. The end result was the detonation of Diaboromon’s attack. A near blinding explosion rocketed the area. Forcing the non-combatants to duck for cover and shield their eyes.
When they rose back up the dust cloud from the explosion revealed the two to be standing. Both Diaboromon and Ayumi glaring at each other. One with amusement, and the other with utter hatred.
‘Song end’
As Twilight watched her alternate future self, amazed that she was doing so well against the evil Digimon, her expression changed from upbeat to looks of confusion. With a hint of concern in her eyes, she noticed something about Ayumi that didn’t look right.
“Is she… getting worn out?”

Thats the big problem with world ending Digimon bosses, theyre more above Mega as Megas are above ultimates, but Megas are a temporary power up while the Boss is permanent. If you cant totally overkill them, youre losing through attrition. Which is exactly what gives the bosses their power.
she's letting the data run wild and is not used to using her new form so it's wearing her out (this was a thing in digimon. The first few times in a new form are short so this will end quickly and not how some hope)

They both are "created" to be in their "permanent" Mega-level forms.
( While ChaosBlackWarGreymon's rather embarrassing predicament turning back to his Agumon rookie-form was only temporary. )

The term "Ultra" is relatively new, as is classifying them as level 7 in the card game. New ways of expressing the phenomena that has existed since Apocalymon.
I know that I'm only theorizing, but will this story end in Chapter 100 or in the 90's?
Because despite the Main Digimon villain finally shows himself a few chapters ago, and finally meeting Future Twilight/Ayumi.
They're still a whole lot of things to go.
