I'm intrigued even though I don't care for the the Underworld series of films in the slightest, but this has the makings for a good fic. So I'll track it and see where it goes.

I really like the build up and again I don't care for the Underworld movies yet I really like this fic...I don't know, maybe it's the inclusion of ponies, but yeah going into this and not knowing about the protagonist character before hand, you do a good a job of explaining Lucian and I doesn't feel like some rushed crappy HIE fic where some "brony" lives out his demented fantasy and Lucian for the most part seem likeable and confident, which are the two most important qualities of a main character.
I'm just happy that this fic didn't start with the fill in the blank HIE generic story plot and for those of you playing at home here it is:
Hi my name is _____(name), I'm a __(age) year old brony, I love to listen to ____(music genre associated with electronica), I hate my life and parents and cry myself to sleep. One day I got ___(way of entering Equestria, usually involves death). Ooh look____(Pony name).....either gets turned into a pony or stays a human and does something to save the world. The End.

It's why I write crossovers rather then the usual HIE type of story (which you described perfectly
), that way there is already a character with a past and personality for me to work with.

Understood...I've got 2500 words done and should be done by tonight (this week was final semester submissions for uni so writing time was minimal)

I like this fic even if I don't know a damn thing about the source material, so if you wanna give the lycan a buddy, by all means go on ahead. As for why Lucian can't live in Canterlot, it doesn't quit make sense to me cause he will out live the mane 6 and their decedents a million times over. Plus there is his title of royalty albeit in title only kinda like be king of a country when the country is wiped off the face of the planet.
I think I know where our protagonist is going and it will end with him eating a large animal in the Everfree like a hydra, or manticore. Better yet it should be a quarry eel. Those things are bad ass.

Cool, you'd think rumors of dragons would be enough to discourage ruffians from coming to Ponyville, now they'll have dragons and a monstrous beast that no one has ever seen before (outside of Ponyville anyway).

In the movies he is quite a kind hearted lycan and wants to see lycans become 'a civilised race' like the vampires...so yes most of the time he is soft and diplomatic until someone he cares about is threated (Sonja for example) and then you see his brutal protective/beast side emerge
