S03E10 Keep Calm and Flutter On

"I'm earning his trust by giving him a little space to be himself," Fluttershy said beneath her spinning house, strangely calm.

"Hate to break it to you," Spike said, "but he used that 'space to be himself' to tear out all the reforming spells from the library!"

She touched a hoof to her chin. "Oh, well that does explain the paper eating."

"He ate them?" Twilight's face scrunched up. "Ugh! It's a good thing I took the time to memorize a few before we began." She looked up at the floating house. "Discord! You come out right now!"

Discord's face popped out through a window, staying perfectly still despite the rotation of the house. "Yes?"

Rather than respond, Twilight fired off her spell, sending a strong wave of magic that wrapped around Discord's head.

He immediately put the house back down where it was supposed to be and walked out, holding his mismatched hands together. "I'm so sorry for all I've ever done to you," he mumbled. "Can you ever forgive me?"

Problem solved, although I do wonder what will happen to the possessed beavers unless they get turned back to normal.

Of course it is the "force the villain to conform" route again. I would have thought Fluttershy's stare would have been enough to reign Discord in. At least they did not use the Eggplants of Ramadan or whatever this time. Now Celestia can find her car keys.

Well, that went dark in a hurry. Twilight may come to regret this; this was a case where finesse was probably the better solution.

The story's called Friendship is Overpowered! Couldn't you have shown that the Friendship overwhelmed him? Like, say, as soon as he arrived the Mane 6 dog piled him in a group hug until he agreed to change his ways?

Discord: "Oh, Twilight! Please don't use that spell again." (summons flowers around him) "I really am sorry! Honest!" (puts a puppy dog face)
: "Wow, That second reform spell did do the charm."
: "Hmm. Quite."

Ugh, the idea for a reforming spell. The one thing I hated about that episode.

Well now Discord will be good, not have Twilight spend her day with Cadence caring for him, nnot team up with Tirek which would result in the most super amazing tree house ggetting blown up. When you write the season 4 finale, you could have Twilight summon a giant mirror that would reflect magic blasts back at Tirek. Or have all alicorns, Discord, Mane 6, and entire Equestrian army show up at his next sighting.
