In a dream, Acolyte Inquisitor Twilight Sparkle comes to a startling realization that the universe she lives in is trying to eat her soul. And perhaps already did. She needs to do something to remain Twilight Sparkle. Or at least to die as Twilight Sparkle. But she doesn't know what.

Short vignette, inspired by the excellent "The Dark Ones" and "Of Xenos and War" by Snake Staff. May someday grow to incorporate several vignettes.

This story is not canon to the original, but takes place in a slightly different universe.

It's Necrons, not nekrons.

Does SnakeStaff know you are doing a sequel to his story? Generally it is considered in extremely bad taste to do a sequel to another author's work without permission.

Yeah, I'm sure every single person on this site asked and received permission from Hasbro to write FiM fanfics. :-)

6306896 :facehoof: That is comparing apples and oranges. Snakestaff has been PM'd.

Thanks, I'll change it.

With all due respect, this is as apples to apples as it gets. SnakeStaff wrote a fanfic to both FiM and Warhammer40k. I wrote a fanfic inspired by his fanfic. I am not aware of him asking either Hasbro or Games-Workshop permission. I am 100% sure, though, that the only answer you can get if you ask such permission is negative. Legality of fanfiction is a grey area. Since I already, on my own, decided that I don't have to ask permission from either Hasbro or Games-Workshop, I don't see why I need to ask SnakeStaff.

6307162 While I agree you really have any right to write a fanfic inspired by another fanfic, it might still be considered bad taste by some to try and call it a sequel.

Maybe go the route of every Fallout: Equestria fanfic and call it a side-story or something.

I removed the sequel thing. It's AU anyway.
