Prologue

It wasn't supposed to be this way.

It was never supposed to be this way. We were meant to bring harmony and peace to this land, be its guardians.

The ponies of this land trusted us, and we betrayed them. We betrayed all of them.

Millions have died, many have lost their homes, families, and well-being... because of us.

Equestria has fallen. The others are too corrupted and twisted to see the error of our actions, our wretched, atrocious actions. I am the only one with a sliver of sanity left, and I fear that may soon be gone as I give in to my part in this sick nightmare.

I can almost, just faintly remember that day. The day this all began.
