The Philosopher King

Res ipsa loquitur, sed quid in infernos dicet?

Tahm Kench was the River King. And part of that job was helping those in need, generally by giving a sinner an absolution. But he didn't help them out unless they let him in to their finest feasts after their success, and that very rarely happened. In order to do so, he found a poor sap. Name said it all. Filthy Rich. A young gambler who had too many binds. So Kench saved him, and years later that past deal would catch up to the poor gambler after he made his money and had his time.

Filthy Rich, prepare to have your pockets emptied. And Diamond Tiara, you shall be humbled.

"So cry if you want boy, 'cause you had a chance to walk away. Instead, you're the fool - the fool who let me in."

Possible gore tag to be determined in the future. Alternate Universe where Tahm Kench lives in Equestria. Crossover with League of Legends. Will involve redemption and reformation. On indefinite hiatus until main project is done.

Oh Filthy, you are seriously screwed

On the plus side, do really like the river king for being more than just another eating hero. Perhaps a bit of a redemption framework is what is the idea is?

On the downside, this new, more lighter reflection upon such a dark soul that feeds on misery, by letting his victims reach such high joys and happiness, is a bitter taste for me. True, we haven't seen what the king is like around non gamblers but since his moniker is DEMON, I think the Dealer Persona is the standard.

I will keep an eye on this one and I hope success upon it, should it deliver.

Demons aren't all bad. They are intelligent, sentient beings just like us. It just depends on whether they want to be good or not...

They can be a three dimensional character. Not all evil.

Finally, there yes, is plans for a redemption framework. And the story might involve more than I mentioned in the description.

Can't say I never heard of Tahm Kench before. I like his story, I really like his playstyle and he is a nice addition to my toplane roster. As for Filthy, he needs good luck...aww, who am I kidding, luck ain't enough to escape the river king's/demon's deals.

This story is nice and entertaining so far. Really like the idea of having TK around Equestria, wouldn't surprise me to find him there.

Call me king, call me demon - water forgets the names of the drowned - Tahm Kench
