The world has changed. Cities line Equestria now, and technology has sped up faster than anyone could have thought.

Where does that leave Fluttershy?

But on that day, when Fluttershy was sitting at the table in a butterfly monolith, having drunk her water, she had a thought. The thought that the smile she gave her all those years ago was hiding a pain, not physical, but there all the same.

Realistically that was the truth. It was biting at her something horrible, something she hadn’t felt in a long while.

She had never felt so full of regret as she had that day, sitting on that table, the robot in the corner

So I don't get it? Is Twilight dead and Fluttershy is talking to a robot in the corner? Or did Twilight make Fluttershy mortal again? I'm so confused...... Other than that great job of creating a sad atmosphere!

6395929 The idea is that Fluttershy chose the path of least resistance; to stay on the farm, to live forever and be happy by herself. So yeah, Twilight's probably dead by now, and Fluttershy's talking to a robot in the corner :derpytongue2:

Do you think there's any way to make this a bit clearer? I actually found a couple of things grammatically wrong and corrected them, so it seems like I might not have polished this fic to shine yet.

6395960 It's all right! At least you got it out there! Most people never even get to that step.
So Twilights' dead? How? Why? Wasn't she an immortal alicorn too? And if the princesses are dead and Fluttershy's the only Alicorn does she raise the sun and the moon? And Flutershy's on a farm? I thought she was living in a city!
Sorry for all the questions.

The way the past unfolds is rather interesting. Your writing style is vague enough to leave us with questions. The thing is that these questions aren't answered. I hope they are answered in the sequel.

The world you built is very interesting; even if we see very little of it, the writing lets our imaginations wander. I'll have to admit, however, what I pictured was influenced more by the cover art than the words. except for the room. There is a little bit more detail there.

I guess that the environment wasn't the focus, but the turmoil in Fluttersy's mind, which was done pretty well.

I look forward to reading the sequel to see if the questions I have will be answered.

Stay awesome.
