I like it, are you planning to continue it?

Yes please continue it i love to see how it goes!

Well, that's some good response.

This particular story is done and finished, but I have every intention of continuing with the plot threads introduced here in a later story. Suffice it to say, Lyra, Bon Bon and Zecora are all going to play parts further down the road.

6232804 I want a sequel I would love to see how things turn out btw that was a great sunset shimmer story:pinkiehappy:

6233337 Thank you! As I said, I do plan on following this up. Exactly when is still to be determined, but it'll be sometime soon.

6233391 looking forward to it when it comes. This was a great start, and excellent job on the rhymes. :pinkiehappy: I suck at rhyming, except when I'm not trying but then still rarely unless said rhyme is a pun :facehoof:

6234246 Thanks very much. My current plan is to bang out my alternate take on the Holiday Special comic in time for Christmas, and then bang out the follow-up to this story. We'll see where things go, though.

Great story -- I wish I had thought of it! I'm particularly struck by the idea of Human Zecora having books about Equestrian magic. I'd love to see more of what you do with this storyline...

And it's always neat to see Sunset Shimmer and Zecora interacting. Sunset the queen of sarcasm is respectful where respect is due; Zecora knows that this mare is trouble with a capital T, but can't help but care for her anyways...

I'll be watching eagerly for more!

This is part of a universe now? I didn't know this.

6235265 Thanks! I can assure you right now, there is an explanation for it, one that will be revealed in all good time. I just hope that it makes sense once it's revealed.

6235845 Yeah, I seem to be terminally incapable of doing an independent one-shot. At least, for now.

6235949 Just so that you reveal it!

I would imagine that, since the two worlds are more or less connected, someone who knew exactly where to look in one world would be able to find snatches of information about the other... Assuming that this is a modern book, I'm going to be very interested to see its history -- who wrote it, how widely it's known, what print run it had...

This is a really beautiful idea.

How could anyone be mean to Applejack :pinkiesad2: Good stuff!

6259168 Don't blame me, blame whoever wrote IDW's first Equestria Girls annual. But that's one detail that won't be forgotten, no sirree.

And thanks!

This story is great! I am glad that I read it.

6629809 Thanks! I'm glad that you read it too! My next story with Sunset Shimmer is almost finished and due in time for the holiday season (work permitted), and I hope that you enjoy it as well.

6630955 I'm sure that I will. :)

The hardest thing about turning your life around is all he people who you knew before, for good or for ill.

Now... I'm starting to think that there has been a lot more inter-universal traffic than anyone, even the Princesses, know about. Enough that the two worlds destinies have been linked since a very long time ago.

8021139 Very true, unfortunately. But if turning your life around was easy, anyone could do it.

I think you may be onto something with that thought.

Good work with human Zecora. Especially her rhyming - I personally can't string a rhyme together to save my life, so anyone who can create a halfway-decent couplet has my undying respect XD

Also, I like the allusion to there being some prior history with magic in the human world. I'm gonna be really interested about just where that book Zecora had came from...

(And, just for fun? I'm really amused by Sunset's experiments in spaghetti sauce. I'm a HUGE fan of Italian food and have taken to creating my own sauces, so I can kind of connect with her over the desire to get the spices and taste just so.)

You can thank a good editor for that one. Fortunately for me, I'm posting these on more than one site.

Answers on that front are forthcoming, though they'll be a while. I'm right on the verge of writing the scenes where that history is explained, but as for the story it's in, well...that will come.

And I'm glad that someone appreciates Sunset's cooking experiments. You certainly can't blame her for trying to recreate her mom's sauce recipe.

A good editor is invaluable, definitely.

Cool. I'll be interested to see that, whenever it comes.

Rarity smiled proudly as she noted, “I’ll say this right now, Ms. Ensemble made a very wise decision to take me on.” She looked to the shop and noted,

Why did she note twice in a row?

Wait, it's over already? Well that's rather disappointing. I was looking forward to seeing where this went.

9393309
She noted twice in a row because I was in a rush and I'm a horrible self-editor. Anyway, yeah, this probably could've stood to have a bit more to it, but Sunset's interactions with Lyra and Bon-Bon were a background element in future stories...and will be for a little while yet.

I'd love to see a one off where Lyra finds out Sunset is a unicorn, I think that could be a fun interaction.

It's coming. Trust me, it's coming.

This was a charming little story. You've earned a fave.

Thank you! I hope that you enjoy more of my works.

“A chance for you I may just give, but your past you must outlive. Now I have one thing to request.” The older woman turned the PC about to reveal the screen. “Lend me your sight, and tell me the rest.”

What does that mean?

“Well, it is a job interview, dear. I don’t know how long the Cakes interviewed you for, but it was several minutes before I had any word one way or another about my employment at Carousel Boutique.” Rarity smiled proudly as she noted, “I’ll say this right now, Ms. Ensemble made a very wise decision to take me on.” She looked to the shop and noted, “I just hope that whoever runs this spooky place is similarly wise enough to take Sunset on as an employee. I’d hate for her to be forced to take a job at a fast food place.” She shivered. “Just the thought of being in one makes me want to go on a diet.”

Rarity had to be interviewed?

“She’s working here now?!” Sweetie Drops was anything but pleased at the news from her employer. “Zecora, are you nuts?! That’s Sunset Shimmer! She’s been sinking her talons into the CHS hierarchy since the eighth grade! She’s made everyone’s lives miserable! She turned herself into a raging she-demon at the Fall Formal, for crying out loud!” She turned to her best friend and pleaded, “Lyra, help me out here!”

Well, that’s your own faults.

The older woman smiled. “Once burned, twice shy, are words to live by. I’ll see what I can do, to help the two of you.”

What does that mean?

Her best friend laughed. “Never change, Lyra.” Sweetie Drops then turned to Zecora and asked, “But we are going to keep her out of the private library, right?”

What other stuff do they have in the private library?

“Believe it or not, I do have a vested interest in seeing you succeed in life.” She gave the small kitchen area a brief glance and asked, “Did I interrupt your cooking?”

I wonder if she feels the same way about other students? It’s getting really hard to tell.

10812945
Zecora's telling Sunset that she needs to move on from her past mistakes, and she's asking her to look over the shop's website.

Everyone who gets a job has to be interviewed, assuming they get far enough along.

Zecora's admitting that Lyra and Sweetie Drops have every right to be anxious about Sunset, and she'll try her best to help them adjust.

That's something I haven't revealed yet.

...can't go one comment without bashing Principal Celestia, can't you?

10813001
But, doesn’t rarity own her own shop?

Sorry, it’s kinda hard not to.

10813008
The pony version of Rarity owns her own shop. I doubt the human version has that much fiscal capacity.

10813009
Oh ok. Also, are we allowed to swear in the comments?

10813047
I don't think there's a rule against it, but I try my best to maintain a PG-13 rating at the highest.

10813058
What if I censor them? Like f*ck?

10813069
Oh, that'd be fine.

10813152
Thank god. I’ve noticed there were some stories involving anon a miss. So I need all the swears I know in my arsenal.

10813178
Yeah, apologies in advance for that, but I felt as though I had to tackle it early on and try to make it not suck. Alas, I fear that I only made it suck less...which really isn't much of an achievement.

10813185
Don’t worry. You bad gave me an excuse to swear.

Really enjoying the world building you doing for EQG here and really feels like you're building up to something, looking forward to the eventual payoff.

Also it feels really weird reading a fimfic referring to Bon Bon as Sweetie Drops without Agent in front of it.

11287090
You'd better believe I'm building up to something. And as for Bon-Bon, chalk it up to a difference between the two worlds and me playing with the demands of lawyers.
