Most people are, however, you must keep in mind that one of the main purposes of this story is to show how our two societies differ, and how we might interact because of those differences.
Monogamy among humans is mainly a cultural, and generally religious, issue. We've had cultures that are strictly monogamous, strictly polygamous, and some cultures that never cared. So, when the issue is brought up among a race where rather than being a social issue, it's a biological one (with the high disparity among the genders monogamy could not work on a biological scale, the species would die out) Lero, who is no longer in his own society, allows RD to make the decision for him. He doesn't have strong ties to the issue, and would instead want Dash to be as comfortable as possible.

I'm glad that you're enjoying the story, just keep in mind that this isn't trying to say that any way of life is better than another, it's just exploring societal differences and the interactions they cause.

649080 While you make a good point and I find this story too interesting to argue, I would like to point out that to my knowledge (granted it is only reinforced by hearsay), human biology is only capable of adaptation to a union between two individuals, and more than that actually results in a sizable increase in risk regarding STDs and genetic diseases, as well as weakening the immune system to leave a target vulnerable to conventional diseases. Granted, it seems logical that this could be negated with a robust enough immune system and diet to support it, but it just seems to me that if cultures have maintained something like that for thousands of years (which is an incredible feat) then there must be at least SOME grain of truth behind the logic. Anyway, to the next chapter!

The first few paragraphs weren't as strong as the last chapter's, but after that it was marvelous!

I must say, I've heard a ton about this fic, but I've been very hesitant to read it, because it was a HiE, and a clop-fic no less, which I have found isn't my thing. What you (or the anonymous author) have done is swipe me up in such an immersive and detailed story line with well written romance that had me feeling... ways I cannot describe with words of both the English and Equestrian language. This is a lot better than I was expecting, well done. And I've only read the first chapter.

EDIT: I guess I got caught up in the story so much, I didn't realize it was the second chapter :P

Nice to read a fic that, while there is clop in it, is not completely centered around it, and actually adds a story element, as well as a consideration as to possible differences between an Equine society and our own.

I agree that it is well written:) Descriptive and colourful, taking many factors into account making it believable as to say. Clear and thought-through imaging. This far I am enjoying it:)

But...

At some parts, it almost feels like text-book descriptions of your world-my world and how they are different. Thought through as i said, but at times almost a bit too plain and... well, descriptive. To the point where it loses its feeling and the emotion behind it. Almost required for the sake of the story to have it said, I agree, but still it feels like it is being said because it has to be said.

Still, don't take me wrong, I really like the read. It is a very nice story! It may be labelled a clop, but that's far from the focus-point. With all its genuine-feeling feeelings, I'd rather call it "uncensored affection":)
