Was a nice bit of AppleDash, Yoshi, well done.
A nice Doctor Who reference, which fit surprising well with the chosen speaker of the reference.
One minor correction of note:Pegasi refer to more than one if I recall. If AJ is approaching RD the wording should be pegasus, right?(Edit: I misread this part of the story and have been corrected, no more comments needed.)I was surprised that you had Applejack be the one with the crush, and then be the one to not want to get into the relationship. Though she always is the more practical one so her reasoning makes sense. It is a nice change of pace from the usual romance plot line.
Dash's uh... orientation? Was a bit of a surprise too, I'm not sure I quite fully understand it but it too is a nice change of pace from the standard fair. However, and forgive me if this treads on any toes (or hooves) here, but from my perspective this line: "I didn't tell you about having a thing for you because... well, because I didn't have a thing for you. Not until recently." Sounds like a convenient plot excuse / way of saying "I didn't have feelings for you right up until the point where you confessed, now I suddenly have feelings for you because of plot reasons." It brings me out of the story because it doesn't feel like something naturally happening, but rather is forced because the author wants it to.
Expanding on how recently these feelings started developing would probably help here, especially if RD's feelings developed before this crush confession. It wouldn't make this line so jarring, and give us a little bit more of a look into RD's character.

I didn't really have any specific period in mind for how long Dash has returned AJ's feelings. Like, it had been a while, but still relatively short considering how long they've known each other. In my head, it felt like something she was still... getting used to, for lack of a better word.

Ha I love this! Demi Rainbow, now there's an idea! This story also made me think reciprioromantic (I believe it's called?) Rainbow, where she only returns the feelings once someone confesses.
