"Who's to say what happened at Karthwasten?"

Switchback has been living in Ponyville for three years now, with little knowledge of what has been happening back at his home hive. That all changes when a changeling, severely injured from the conflicts that have been taking place, is found wandering aimlessly through the Everfree forest. Believing that the changelings' situation creates an opportunity for peace, Celestia asks Switchback to go back home, not as a returning runaway, but a representative of Equestria who could forge a bridge between their species. Nopony, is prepared for what they will find.

This story is a sequel to Changelings Like Weddings, but reading that story is not necessary to understand this one.

This is so awesome!

Very interesting... tracking!

Someone needs to save fluttershy fast!

i'd still like to know why simply shapeshifting wouldnt work to heal the leg?

6846594 I actually thought about that one for a while when I was first writing this and came to the conclusion that it wouldn't be able to be fixed because the flesh is torn and somehow messed with the nerves or something like that. I don't know if that makes sense. In this world shape shifting and regeneration are two different things I guess.

6846439 Well, since you said please....

Oh snap! More twists.

6967402 And more to come my friend.

6846594 In most fan fictions featuring changelings, shapeshifting is basically a fancy illusion spell, so it would have no effect on the leg.

How the hell does this only have 16 likes? Well, I'm in for the long haul.

6991706 That's kind of the logic I had in mind. I'm glad to see that it works. :yay:

6991748 Thanks, I'm glad you like it. :pinkiehappy:

And so it begins.

Switchback has had a rougher time then I thought.

Argh! Writer's block is the worst. I know how you feel.

7180577 Indeed. Fortunately, I've already got a solid start on the next chapter. :yay:

"Weaver," the commander said again. "That is my name, just thought you should know it since we're having a civil conversation."

well...he has a big name to live up to...

Weaver, aka Skitter, aka Taylor Herbert, Protagonist of the completed Worm webseries.
went from idealistic bullied kid who gains bug control powers to Warlord trying to do the right thing, to omnipresent cripple controlling the entire powered population of multiple worlds to kill an evil godlike being basically the embodiment of escalation and "doing the wrong thing for the right reason"
that, and "lethal harmless power"

I'm looking forward to see what happens to fluttershy and the apples.

7249890 Wow. That does set the bar high.

To think that an entire nation of sorts could go into udder chaos

Not sure if ungulate joke (probably should be 'utter')... :rainbowlaugh:

"I meant know offense from this."

Wrong 'no'.

Aaaa, poor Crawlway. Poor little changebug. :fluttercry:

7410868 Oh God. How did that slip through the editing process.:twilightoops:

Keep Glosser. He might be useful in the future.

7467724 "Useful" may be the wrong word, but I wont spoil anything.

a good hope but why to opportunistic in reality gonna bite twilight innocent in half later on but maybe it be a learning experience as a leader who has to make a hard choice...

they being too hopeful about the infected changeling of making it in time before they have to put him down I don't think a cure is possible in his condition time and twilight attitude of if everyone works together it be fine and perfect it a bit naive in those lands and well the situations of survival over friendship gonna be put to the test at times i bet.
