Fat lot of good that did me. I'm now stuck at the lower end of the restaurants, a re-vamped donut shop trying to act like the big leagues. The place is a dump as far as I'm concerned, but I guess I need the experience if I'm ever gonna get the attention or save enough money to make it big myself or open my own restaurant sometime.

Great chapter. I love these two together, the way they play off of each other. Although, I'm not really noticing any 'attitude' problem on Matthew's part that would alienate him from other ponies. Is he just being self deprecating or is there something I'm missing?

I like how you portrayed Prince blueblood here, he's a bit snobby and picky but not overly exaggerated to the extreme which tends to be done the worse in HIE type fics like this so good job there.

It's explained better later, but the gist is this:
Something similar to the mirror is what allows the humans and Equestrians to make the dimension jump to Earth or Equestria, specifically to a sort of "rehabilitation center"/foreign customs stop upon entry. However, repeated crossings are not advised, as too many in one period often leads to multiple health issues, so the minimum mandatory stay in one place or the other is a week, and it is generally preferred to wait a month before crossing back over.
