That was actually a more appropriate punishment than her becoming her human self. That was a little too harsh. I like where this is going. Keep up the good work.
I like it, my other problems like the punishment have been improved. Although I do think Sunset should've been allowed to keep her wings. This could lead to a moment with her being taught how to fly by Twilight. But this is just a minor nit pick. I love how you kept everything else like Sunset with that little bit of evil still inside of her. Also like I said before I'm fine with this different Celestia. So overall good job and a little bit better than the previous attempt. Keep at this story and I cannot wait for it to continue

No offense, but this is "tribalist." As the Season 4 Finale has shown us, sapping ponies of magic takes away all their cutie marks and abilities as well as making them super weak. Earth ponies are not magicless; they have strength, ability interact with the land itself, and probably a ton of other skills that the show has yet to capitalize on; in the Season 4 Finale, Earth ponies that lost their powers could no longer farm or buck. Taking away magic doesn't make ponies lose body parts; the pegasi and unicorns and alicorns simply lost the ability to fly or use magic, but they looked the same just without their cutie marks.
Also, the fact that Celestia can so easily take away a pony's powers, even that of a fellow alicorn, is worrying and makes her drift toward Tyrant-Celestia.
