Unfortunately, my updates seem to be sporadic. Somewhere between two to six weeks depending on my motivation and schedule. Though, I have been known to put out two or three chapters in the same week if I get enough free time.

I like the idea you have going here. Shame that Vinyl has been portrayed in the television show as not having a voice of her own, but time constraints and the lack of a decent voice actress I guess thems the breaks. Curious as how you plan on playing out this story though. I will say that I find it a small shame you chose not for these two to have a more "mature" relationship further on down the line. I say this because you had Vinyl mention a horn fetish when she clearly is a unicorn herself. Oh the scenes I could see coming from that.
Following for now to see how the a story develops, but a like you must earn.

It kind of bugs me too, but I'm willing to ignore it for the sake of the ship. Derpy x anypony is enough to catch my interest, and this one seems interesting enough to hold it.
Strangely enough I know of another Derpy ship fic where she didn't understand her cutie mark, It was actually one of the major plot points and that one I consider one of the best ship fics on the site.
Maybe it would help if it were explained why she didn't understand her cutie mark, like the story of how she got it and why it was ambiguous at the time.

I was going to look over it too, since it seems like this might not affect much in the long run, but given what the marks are, and the implications that she got the mark at one point for literally no reason and then spent her life being a general unfulfilled mess as she tried desperately to figure out the meaning...
Maybe there was some form of magic accident that spawned it early, and without the confirming tramp stamp when she did something special-talent-ey, it kind of ruined her in the long run and wrecked her self esteem?

6084490 The recent episode Appleloosa's Most Wanted's main plot point was that Trouble Shoes misinterpreted his cutie mark for pretty much his whole life and the CMC helped him to discover it's true meaning. So, no. Not all cutie marks come with automatically knowing one's special talent.

I never understood the reason why Vinyl being mute is accepted as canon. Personally, I find that taking anything from the EQG world and assuming it canon for the pony world is simply a baseless assumption...Further more and disregarding EQG, most background ponies in the series are voiceless. How is it not accepted as cannon that they too would be mute?
Not to say that I didn't enjoy this story, but I find that writing for a voiceless character can either add a huge amount of constraint or may produce a very interesting kind of relationship hereto unseen in most fiction. Non the less, good quality fic. I look forward to seeing what you do with it.

Exactly the type of fanfiction I needed after the 100th episode! Unusual pairing aside, you did an awesome job and I liked how you integrated the 'Vinyl is mute'. Looking forward to the next chapter!
Nice story, i hope the updates doesn´t take to long, i can wait, but at the last time every story i read stops after a while, it usually takes two- three months for a new chapter, or half a year.
The story seems to be really nice, i like the mute Vinyl, the maybe a bit to clumsy Derpy, and how Vinyl cares for her, the story feels great so far.
I hope it lasts a while, i suppose this isn´t the type of story that is going to be that long, but i am not sure how much you have planned already.
edit: I am happy for every Vinyl, Dash, or Daring Doo, that doesn´t have to end the first date with sex, only because they are actives Mares. While i prefer it otherwise, i just don´t like it to be like a rule, that Mares like them, have to act like that.
