To be honest this whole scenario is very out of character for the royal duo. Celestia in canon has always shown a love for all beings', Pony, Zebra, Griffon, it matters not. And you'd think that after a thousand years on the moon, and after seeing a holiday in which she was both feared and screamed at on sight, AND shown a blatent lack of respect that Luna would sympathize with the poor man.
But no, the power of Racism was too great to be ignored.

Hmmm, interesting. I like the odd take on a HiE story, but at the same time know nothing of the subject it centers around. Robert has only really been talked about, not shown.
He might be the one trying to raise Tirek, or he might be an odd mirror of a human (hence why Fluttershy got the name's wrong rather than a cute mispronunciation).

Why did he talk about WW2? If I showed up in a land like this I would never mention this war just explain that we came from a technologically advanced place and try to tell about our world. Explain our sins slowly and with context. Dropping the atomic bomb is far to complicated to be explained in a single day.
