Don't worry, this story isn't over. This was just the first installment. The next installment will be starting soon.

When I first started reading this, I didn't expect it to turn out anywhere near like this. Having read The Chase and a few of your other stories, I figured there would be a lot more conflict. Maybe there will be and I'm just jumping the gun, but for now, with this ending, it felt different to me. In a good way of course :P Another great read Kudzu. I look forward to the next one! Best wishes!

This was so much fun to read. Can't wait for the next installment!

can't wait for the sequel

Huh, maybe the rest of the accepted OC's show up in the sequel.

Grats on keeping out the Black Plot Bunnies.

End at a point where they can set off again, both figuratively and literally, clever.

Really enjoyed this one, eager to see more.

Thank you~! :pinkiehappy:

A little stone cottage was a short distance away.

6789549 Called it!

This story was the first one to make me interested in Maud as a main character. I can't wait to see what you do with her and Tarnished in the sequel. I loved seeing both characters gradually change and learn more about each other and themselves as time went on.

Is TLatHH canon to this story's future? Tarnished and Maud do show up in that one.

Blinking and looking is a pretty common thing that one does when they wake up. You wake up, you blink a few times to focus your vision, and you look at your alarm clock, as an example. To open your eyes, you have to blink a few times to clear away eye boogers and crusty bits. :derpytongue2:

It had been a while since he and Maud had left the rock farm together. It had been a long while.
You state that its been a while in the first sentence, then you repeat it again in the next. You just need the one.

Marble was interested a nice colt.
Marble was interested in a nice colt. add a "in"

Get in the bed, Maud, and you keep that blindfold on
Get in the bed, Maud, and keep that blindfold on drop the "you"

Limestone, go away. Go away, Limestone Did you mean to repeat the statement?

Ponies talk funny. Ponies talk much funny. So do people. Especially if they just woke up. Plus, regional dialects, ya'll.

Very satisfactory! Looking forward to more!

The sequel is live!

I very much enjoyed this story. The characters were fun and the situations they found themselves in were entertaining as well.

At the beginning, I very much thought the story would be about the mis-adventures of Tarnished Teapot, a very unlucky pony. However, that really wasn't the case. As the story moved on it turned into the story of a pony who had yet to learn his place in the world, and that his true place was no where as normal as compared to other ponies.

Maud and her family are a lot of fun - granted their personalities here differ greatly from those in the show, but I can live with that without issue. I feel that I now understand how Maud thinks and sees the world around her.

Overall, as this session comes to a close, I feel we have introduced our characters and set the world stage for future adventures. You have defined specific events and triggers (i.e. poison joke being removed and the resulting destruction by volcano, etc.) that can be built upon in the future.

If I had to pick a downside to the story, I have to admit, I do kinda miss the mis-adventures that Tarnished encountered in the early parts of the story. Not that I want to be mean to him, but things like losing his virginity to a hot-to-trot Manticore was freaking hilarious! Should he happen to stumble across such mishaps in future chapters I will admit to most likely laughing his ass off because of it.

Always like seeing this story. Maud and Tarnish are fun together. I also enjoy reading to get the little tidbits on Pinkie and her suitor of which we know so little. They help keep me going.

Really didn't know what to really expect from this at first. I started reading this taking a break from the chase and found i couldn't stop reading it. Also like the fact that its in the same realm as MFD i like that one as well and hope to see it continue n.n

6825257 Sounds good to me ill be sure to save it

6825257
Nice, I want to know more about Flamingo!

6828669

You have no idea. Wait till you read Delirium.

I loved this story. Please keep going!

I've been waiting for this to finish before I started reading it, and Kudzu, you made it good enough to make me read the whole thing in a single sitting.

Sweet Celestia on a pogostick... eight hours I've been reading. I regret nothing.:rainbowdetermined2:
...well, I do regret not expecting the sheer level of innuendo-ness present in the fic. That's something that surprised me. In a good way, though.:rainbowlaugh:

When I put that song in the comments, I was planning that chapter.

6837269

Moving forward using all my breath
Making love to you was never second best
I saw the world crashing all around your face
Never really knowing it was always mesh and lace

I'll stop the world and melt with you
You've seen the difference and it's getting better all the time
And there's nothing you and I won't do
I'll stop the world and melt with you

(We should know better) Dream of better lives the kind which never hate
(We should see) Trapped in a state of imaginary grace
(We should know better) I made a pilgrimage to save this human's race
(We should see) Never comprehending a race that's long gone by

(Let's stop the world) I'll stop the world and melt with you
(Let's stop the world) You've seen the difference and it's getting better all the time
And there's nothing you and I won't do
(Let's stop the world) I'll stop the world and melt with you

The future's open wide

That first verse when you think about the story... :pinkiegasp:

Welp, i very much enjoyed this. You made Maud more than a cameo in a story successfully, and that's a first ive seen.
I will get around to that sequel.

6837202 i knew it.

6837575 what pun?

Edit: Oh! No it wasnt.

Sweet Celestia on a pogo stick!

This was a fun little story!

6845547

It really doesn't matter, and neither have any to do with The Weed.

6846416 TBH, i dont care to much on organic, i just hate Mac & Cheese.

6853587 ah, it makes sense now. Though i dont beleive i ever mentioned out of character.

You're still here? It's over. Go home.

100 points to Gryffindor for anyone who knows this quote.

Yes!!! I was the 300th like!!!!!!

6866372 naw, all good. That was a good laugh. But i was being stereotypical, my apolagies

6845554 Really enjoyed reading this, even though I only found it after it had been completed. :pinkiehappy:

A little sad that Tarnish never visited Buttons again. That would had been fun having the diamond dog and Maud interact with one another. :pinkiesad2:

Had a thought that Grey Owl's mother was the painted mare that Tarnish spent the night with before his hanging. Like to think she's his daughter even if there's nothing to suggest it. :pinkiegasp:

Looking forward to future stories by you--have a follow!

This was... surprisingly good. Damn good even. Kudos, kudzu.

...I read thru the entire story just to say that. (Jk)

6884849 legit though xD

:raritycry:
It was beautiful.
It was touching,
it was unique,
it was adventurous,
it was romantic.
It had just about everything I, as a reader look for in a story, granted, I like the in depth scientific theorising and magical engineering of your other stories,
but this was a nicer, simpler story that was about something much simpler, but was just as rewarding a read as anything else you're written.
I mean, Maud.
MAUDD
majorly adventurous and unusual, but dangerous, and delightful
MA.U.D.D.

This was an incredible experience. I don't think I've ever been entranced so much by romance. They're so cute together! And the words! Every time I read the word 'snoot' I just wanna huggle somebody. It's such an adorable word!!!! (I'm weird. Sorry. I think I have a snoot fetish( also, what's pronking?)

I absolutely loved this story, and I CANNOT wait to read the sequel (When It's done). You, my friend, are one of my top authors. I love your writing!!

Thank you for sharing your story with me

6896230

Pronking.

Watch this video. Pinkie pronks all time.

6897614 Oooooooooohh. I thought it was a made-up word, like snoot. (Snoot is soooooo adorable by the way)

This was fucking awesome story mate reading it was all I did the past two days. I love how you took a plant that everyone thought was just a weed and made it extremely important. (kinda like how in LOTR Athelas was thought of just a weed) Love how Maud and Tarnished's relationship. Thank you for sharing this with us.
- May Luna guard your dreams and Celestia light your path.

6897631

Snoot is not a made up word.

A snoot in the fleshy pad that horses have on their noses. For a horse, it is like our fingertips. It is how they feel stuff. It is full of nerves and very, very sensitive. If a horse doesn't know you, they can be skittish about you touching them there, because you can hurt them. So touching snoots is something that takes trust.

6897638 Oh, gods damn. I've made a fool of myself again. Sorry.

6897678

No worries... not everybody knows.

6897682 *laughs nervously*

6915058

Ah, but there is a very good reason for this happening. Don't make snap judgments. :raritywink:

6922044

Tarnish has a magical knack for survival. Trying to kill him is difficult. He is, as stated, a force of nature.

Even when he was hung and approaching death, his talent pulled out a trump card and saved him. Another force of nature arrived.

Uh, check the dates. Much of this was written long before the episode aired. So forget about character, relax, and enjoy the ride.
