I really liked your style, although on a side not it reminds me a bit of Fifty Shades of Grey. Granted I'm not complaining too much since it doesn't quite follow the same story line as the Grey series, but do be careful I'd hate to see this end due to copyright law. Huh? I can't see anything here that would be obviously derivative of Fifty Shades. As I see it, Safe Word is a very different character. He isn't a stalker. He isn't overly obsessive with one woman. He isn't monogamous.

Although I'm a huge fan of the Grey series and it's not just about bondage because there is a much deeper story to it. Well, Fifty Shades of Grey actually began as a fanfiction itself. EL James later changed the names of the characters and several details in order to get it published.

That said, there are a few things about Fifty Shades of Grey that I really don't like. Fifty Shades pretends to depict actual BDSM lifestyle, which it really doesn't. Christian Grey isn't a Dom in a healthy D/s relationship, he's an abusive stalker. On the other hand, the sex scenes are fairly vanilla. It's a good exercise to compare Fifty Shades of Grey to Sophie Morgan's (authobiographic) Diary of a Submissive. At the end of the first Fifty Shades of Grey novel (I haven't read the others), Ana leaves Christian after he beats her up with a belt. Now for BDSM standards, this is relatively standard, but it was still a scene of abuse and not a proper BDSM scene. Why? Because she didn't really want it and only agreed to it in order not to lose him. He emotionally manipulated her into agreeing to it, and this is something that shouldn't happen in a proper D/s relationship. Christian says it himself, Ana isn't a Sub, she wants a classical romance, and if he can't give her that, it's his responsibility to end the relationship. At the end of Diary of a Submissive, it's almost exactly the reverse. It is James who leaves Sophie because he can't deal with what he does to her, even though she loves it and explicitly tells him. I have domination fantasies myself, and I can identify with James, but not with Christian.

5993339 Yes Safe Word is a different character than Christian Grey, but this is only the first chapter. If you read the grey series, in the beginning Christian was pretty straight forward that he doesn't do regular relationships and he doesn't do vanilla sex and blah blah bla-blah bla-blah but he eventualy changes throughout the books.

This is still the first chapter, I'm not saying that this author is going to follow a similar plot line or if they are going to create their own and keep the character the same from beginning to end. I meant it as a caution to prevent them from possibly running into trouble with copyright, granted I'm not sure if they could do anything when it comes to fanfiction. It's a possibility to think about because nowadays so many people are so darn sue happy.

This story takes place in the same universe as Schorl Tourmaline's Equestria Trainers' Society. I've actually read most of Schorl Tourmaline's stories, and since she apparently approved of this, I'm fairly certain that Safe Word is not going to change into being less of a sadist, or more of a romantic. If anything, quite the opposite. Schorl's Society usually picks up guys like him and turns them into straight-up criminals and rapists via brainwashing. And in case of Safe Word, it's at the very least heavily implied that he already is a criminal. His name is fairly misleading if you think about it. Safe Word's relationships really also aren't proper D/s relationships, but like all stories in the Equestria Trainers' Society universe, the story doesn't even pretend that they are.

Watching this exchange I could not stop laughing in that way one does when I know something you don't. I think you all will be very surprised and very entertained with the way things are gonna go. The Fifty Shade's comparison is interesting. I have read all three and they were mediocre at best compared to the stories I've read on here. I never once compared Christian to Safe Word, although now that I look back I can see how you came to that conclusion. A very successful business pony with dominating tendencies? I can see that. However, Mr. Grey doesn't know how to properly treat his subs to keep them both happy and obedient.

The character analysis on Safe's character is very interesting. I think you'll like where this story is going.
