Even though the opening bit threw me for quite the loop, I really liked this chapter a lot. The idea of building tension for the coming pirate invasion was really well executed. As well as that, the idea that the outsiders being taken by Orthrus makes a lot of sense, and I think that it was well thought out too. So far, great work, and I can't wait to see the next chapter!
