Amateur fanfic writer and reader. Sometimes I get dreams, dreams of ponies, and wish that someone would write a story based off them. So why not me?

It's amazing how much can change in a month. One day the baby dragon in the crystal castle next door is small enough to be carried on your back, thirty days later and he's larger than you, learning to use the new pair of wings he just grew.

Or at least trying to learn to fly. Still, everyone has to start somewhere, and even the greats sometimes come from the humblest beginnings. Just look at Rainbow Crash.

Actually, don't. Look Rainbow in the eye, and she might just take that as a challenge. Poor Spike never stood a chance.

She tried to wrestle him? Lol, even if he's still about only the size of a pony, I imagine he's a fair bit stronger, and definitely tougher.

Learning to fly looks difficult, at least Spike is tough so he can take it.

I'm not too sure the way ponies and dragons fly would translate well, dragons seem more built for power and endurance whereas pegasi are built for speed. The huge wingspan and far more solid tail are big differences that Rainbow would have little experience accounting for.

5946740 That's true, but I don't think that's going to stop her at all.

"Sugar cube, we didn' mean no offense. Spike was feelin' real discouraged after a rough start, so Fluttershy told him even you crashed a bunch when you were learnin',"

"When she was young"? She STILL crashes a bunch!

Maybe I can convince her to pull it off."

To pull something off is to just barely manage to do it.
I take it that you're either a young writer who socialized about as much as I did during my lower grade years (which was barely at all and so did not know phrases like this until years later), or that you're not particularly familiar with U.S.-English?

"No, you wait thirty minutes after eating or you'll get cramps like last time."

Spike hesitated for a few seconds before grumbling, "Fine."

Do people really get cramps doing exercise after eating? I never have.

"You know, it's not to late, you can still back out,"

should be 'too'. Spellcheck doesn't help with everything. While this fic has had very few errors so far, try going through your fic backwards while looking for errors. It's harder to miss mistakes that way.

So far I'm enjoying this fic. It's a simple and fun slice of life read.

I meant to say call it off but couldn't remember the phrase beyond __ll it off. And the thirty minutes thing is a reference to the myth where you should rest thirty minutes after eating before swimming to prevent cramping.

Rainbow smirked at the sight of her captain posing in a skintight Wonderbolt flight suit while wearing a sultry smile.

Later that night, Rainbow Dash found herself unable to fall asleep. Images of a fiery mare wouldn't leave her head.
("Almost feels like I'm wearing... NOTHING AT ALL! NOTHING AT ALL! NOTHING AT ALL...")

"Stupid sexy Spitfire..." Dash grumbled, rolling over.

Not having to deal with a word limit helps.

"Well, no, not entirely. I mean, it's pretty clear something's wrong with his wing." He jerked his head toward the pegasus on his back. "Dr. Lift specializes in wing structure, but whether she knows anything we don't will have to wait until she awakes."

A fun response from the doctor would've been, "So far, I'm afraid the only medical pony in history to examine a dragon and survive is on my back." [glances at unconscious doctor] "And she just got smacked into an x-ray screen."
