This story is a sequel to Saved by the Lulamoon

Set before the events of Season 5.

Sometimes, you make bad decisions. Those decisions sometimes lead to you oppressing a peaceful town with forbidden magic. A bit of forgiveness later, there is nowhere else to go but forward. As Trixie well knows, dwelling on the past brings only misfortune in the end.

These are the trials and travails of the Great and Apologetic Trixie, attempting to right her wrongs. Fate has its plans, however, and her travels shall seldom be simple, peaceful affairs. Which is good. The fate of the world may even depend on it.

A series that I will be writing for a long while, I can tell. Trixie Lulamoon may be my favourite pony, just because her character has a lot of unexplored potential from the main series. A showpony deserves some spotlight, is all I'm saying.

Somewhat of a continuation of my first tale, Saved by the Lulamoon, though much different in style, elaborating and expanding on the image of Trixie depicted therein. The story and events depicted there are not necessarily required to understand what will go on here.

Without further ado, hope you enjoy a bit of Trixie goodness! It is great and powerful, after all.

I hope you keep writing about Trixie's travels.
Its interesting seeing the things one can run into while traveling the world. Or the Everfree.

I shall try to do just that, friend. Glad ya like it so far.

Very sweet. I can easily picture this as an episode.

This is a good story. It manages to carry that special theme of Equestria as still an untamed and adventurous place, something I find that not too many other fanfics really gets. I agree that this could be part of the original show with little need for modification.

You also let your characters shine without having others forced into humiliating joke roles, which is very good. (Although Flim and Flam were borderline cases, but that felt more a case of "hoist by their own petard" rather than the typical "universe heaps crap on character for no reason".) Thank you so much for not perpetuating the "everypony still hates Trixie" deal and moving on with it instead.

I'm enjoying it so far. Your writing style is a bit unconventional and sometimes it's difficult to determine exactly who's saying what, but other than that I have no complaints.

It's criminal how few views this story has. They're nice little adventures, well written, and leave a smile on my face.

5965202

And we are more than glad you enjoy them, friend! There are more on the way, we swear on our wizard's hat!

Another amazing adventure. Were it not for the fact that skeletons are somewhat inappropriate content for the intended demographic, this could absolutely be part of the show, or perhaps the comic.

I agree that it's a shame and a sin that it doesn't have more exposure. I'll add it to a few Trixie-centered groups.

I've read fanfics where Trixie and Discord interact (they're very few, at least if you discount those that are garbage) and I've always found them to have a very special chemistry. Discord would be intrigued by ponies who are a little unconventional and strange - hence why he's so drawn to Fluttershy, and to a lesser degree Twilight - and Trixie is a very novel flavor indeed. So them getting along in their own way absolutely works.

The mindset of living in the present and not in the past definitely makes sense for him, too. I'll remember that for future stories.

Once again, a story that could easily fit into the show. At least, it has the spirit of it. The tsukumogami certainly feel like one of those mythological concepts they like to throw in. Very nice. I'll remember Lotus in case I'll write a story set in Neighpon. (I like to borrow elements from good stories.)

6012694

And whenever I get around to it, you may see Lotus again in my own writings, as well.

As always, thank you for your patronage.

Really interesting chapter here. That mirror felt a lot like something our old GM back when I played D&D would've sprung on us. Very cool. (And was that a touch of Twixie I saw there? Heh heh.)

Too bad they didn't have Spike to just chuck a rock down the giant timberwolf's throat.

Apparently that hits their self-destruct button... or something... I dunno how that actually worked. :derpytongue2:

EDIT NOTE:

The hollow trunk of the crystalline tree house (????) a large, spiral staircase.

I believe you're missing an adverb where I've placed the question marks, without which this becomes a sentence fragment. I think 'had' is supposed to go there.

"You forget," Trixie added, "that we ourselves didn't know what it was good for at the time. Much like the Infinite Bounce-o-Tronic 4000, which actually did never stop. Kids who threw it learned the hard way."

"That one did have an attached disclaimer, though. Luckily for us."

It bounced its way to Earth, eventually; where an evil toymaker found it and replicated it. It was renamed 'The Happy Fun Ball'. Many did not take the disclaimer seriously and mocked the Happy Fun Ball...

Millions died. :fluttershbad:

"It is true we dragons usually feast on gems and metals, like our distant underground cousins. But we are more than capable of eating plants, animals, even ponies,"

"I TOLD YOU THEY'D EAT A PONY IN ONE GULP!!!" shouted the suddenly-there Fluttershy. :flutterrage:

"Fluttershy?!" stammered Twilight. "How did you... you don't have... but this is impossible!" :twilightoops:

Pinkie trotted over and patted Fluttershy on the head, speaking in a creaky oriental dialect, "Ah, velly good, Yellow One. You are learning the ways of Pinkie." :pinkiehappy:

The dragon and Trixie just stood there staring at the odd scene and wondering if perhaps they were the last sane beings on the planet.

6012694 I have a 250 year-old katana that I make sure to keep oiled and polished so it won't turn into a demon.

EDIT NOTE:

Her violet mane and tail were meticulously brushed and styled, her snow-white mane glistened in the rays of the afternoon sun.

Snow-white coat, I believe you intended.

Hah! Applejack has finally cottoned to the fact that a Crusader won't stay put, and the best place to keep her sister is within a hoof's length.

Slice Of Life and Action Adventure? In the same chapter? Very well done. The transition between genres (that's probably not the right word, but...) flows very naturally. Meeting up with friends, seeing a new place, making a new friend... then bam! Battle and excitement! Love it.

Also, I wonder if Trixie has a thing for alicorns, since her gaze seemed to linger a bit on Luna. Not to mention the bit about her dreams...

A demon mirror that traps the souls of those who look into it...

I would be unaffected, as my soul is already in the possession of a most frightful creature!

(From far away, Charline de Lyon grins with a fanged smile.)

Hmmm... might want to connect those two little parts with Twilight into one contiguous scene right at the end. There's no need to divide it up, as Twilight's scene has nothing to do with the events occurring with Trixie within the chapter. It awkwardly cuts into Trixie's portion with little purpose, since the first portion of the scene is merely Twilight running to the Tree. It leaves the reader wondering if they missed something, since this tiny scene split appears to lack any relevance to the events with the bat ponies.... speaking of which, how did Nox become an apple-loving vampire fruit bat pony?

6075203 A very good point, actually. I had hoped to bring in a bit of mystery between Trixie sleeping and waking up, but I can totally see how jarring an insert it is now. But with a wave of a magic wand, it is rectified! Thanks again!

After being born, she probably figured out apples be good! In all seriousness, I went ahead and melded some fruit bat tendencies with those present in the insect-eating sort (echolocation). It seemed only natural Sweet Apple Acres would be a favourite place for batkind to buy from.

6075070 One can't keep a filly as energetic as Apple Bloom on a leash, that's for sure.

Melding things together is something I'd say I'm decent at. Even in more serious pieces, I always make sure to insert a fair bit of humour and other light-hearted moments. Keeps things nice and varied.

You'd have to ask the princess for that information, I am afraid. Dream-reading is currently outside my skillset, but I just need some more XP!

Very good. Works very well.

Do i see foreshadowing at the end here or it just me?

6139992

If you mean the potential Twixie relationships, we've been dropping nuggets since chapter 2!

But will they lead to anything?! Only Discord may know. Bah, let's be honest, he knows.

Jormun and Gandr. Cute.

And Gerald sounds like quite the proper gentleman. Gentledrake. Whatever. All in all, good chapter.

I love that I'm reading this awesome work of art

6221428

Och, you give us too much credit, I think!

Nonetheless, we are glad to have such an adoring fan!

And then the worms, which were secretly super-villains, ate everypony. And Discord. Because... I dunno... magic worm magic or something.

What a twist! :trollestia:

6223457

You have the script for Tremors 8 on your hooves there! There was a Tremors 7, right?

6223546 Hollywood just stole the idea, along with all the ideas of everyone. Which they'll ruin trying to adapt to old properties' prequels, sequels, reboots, and convoluted crossovers.

:applejackconfused:

Because dragons rule.

Eeeyup.

The lone green bush made me think instantly of a certain comedy sketch.

How Not to Be Seen

"The CMCs have learned the basics of how not to be seen. However, they have chosen a rather obvious bit of cover." Bush asplodes!

6263040 One of Monty Python's finest, if I do say so myself.

6262721 I was hoping someone might post a comment in this vein, thank you.

And thank you even more for reading, friend.

6264693

Yup, yupers! :pinkiehappy: I've enjoyed the story so far!

ah another great chapter!!!

6264686 I blew up the CMCs in the bush... :pinkiecrazy:

*Alondro has gone totally mad at last... he must be injected with the secret ingredient, Fraudulin, before the not-white car reaches the wall to attain 100% protection from cavities and engine deposits!*

A dragon that loves pastries. .......................Hmmm. Now I've seen everything.

I made this just for you. Took me a few months to get the image right, but I think it was worth it. Can't believe I wasted all that time for this..

6268347 Trixie does love a dedicated fan! May your artistic skill continue to flourish!

6265089 Why, thank you!

And thank you for your continued adoration of the one-and-only Trixie!

Well. that was cute. Trixie's take on the Mane 6 personalities was fairly cool.

I guess being a late bloomer to her Cutie Mark inadvertently makes her a role model to the Crusaders.

Just seeing a dragon named Glint makes me want to play Guild Wars again, :twistnerd:

6276221 Ahah! Someone spotted my mildly hidden reference! I applaud you, good sir/madame!

And thank you for your patronage!

6272971 We are glad you liked our brief foray into the minds of the six chosen ponies!

And that was exactly the angle we were hoping to show!

Trixie, Hero of the Everfree. No one will believe that.

6359069 They don't necessarily have to. After all, the Humble and Apologetic Trixie is not one to brag!

Sweet and heartwarming, very nice. Actually, I think that the story of how Sunset befriended the Sirens and helped them get their new life started could be a whole separate 'fic of its own. Expanding the anecdote we get here into a full proper tale. Of course, if you're up to it and not otherwise.

The opening continues Trixie's wonderfully weird and adventurous life and I love it. The bit with the timberwolf was a laugh. Only Trixie.

The one thing I could object to is that Human Trixie's bandmates, Fuchsia Blush and Lavender Lace, seemed unnecessarily relegated to the background, with no lines and no mention of even being there. Given that they presumably were performing along with the Trixies, they should have gotten at least some mention.
