I'd normally go on about how horses and ponies were the same species, but Equestria's ponies have a number of pretty unique traits that horses don't (cutie marks, for one).

I honestly am surprised that the students didn't mob Starlight at the first opportunity. This is, what, the third time some outside influence has tried to control them? It would've been a shorter story, yes, but it would've been hilarious as all get out.
More! I suspect that you would like more constructive comments, though, and as you've put a lot of effort into this, I shall deliver. First of all, nice job not calling Twilight to fix everything immediately. I don't know where you're going with this, so if you do decide to bring in Twi, I'm not complaining. It'd be cool. Just it seems that in Rainbow Rocks, Twilight comes in a bit too soon.
Second, good job adapting this to the EG world. Seems a bit difficult. So, again, good job.
You did a good job with bringing the countryisms part into this. Good job.
Finally, just a suggestion. In the episode, Rainbow was kind of... just there. As she is my favorite character, I would like if she had some more importance in your story. It's completely fine if you don't do this, I still love this story.

you do realise alot of starlights 'ideas' are illegal for a public school right? uniforms they could get away with but the accent for instance is discrimination, the thing with rarity's make up goes agianst her right to self expression. and the lunch room thing is not supporting good nutrition, principle supported or not there is no way that this would be allowed to go on.
