I'd like to think it's not dead, it's more a case of nothing I'm writing feels satisfactory (whether due to general quality or contrivance), so I wind up procrastinating and getting sidetracked. I've actually written a sort of prequel one-shot from Thorn's childhood at this point. Sadly, it may or may not include a bit of a spoiler to this story, so I hesitate to publish it just yet.

I'd say just write it, you won't improve if you are scared to do anything that isn't perfect. The first chapter was definitely good enough for me to want to read more.
