121 - To Accept Happiness

Silver watched Celestia stroll from the court with a smile. He was happy. Everyone was happy...

Something was wrong. He turned sharply to darkness, and hovering before him were words.

Your rainbow has come at last. Why aren't you happy?

Silver pawed at the ground. "After all this, I've gotten a bit untrusting, which itself bothers me a little. How can I know this is true? I've already watched two of my realities collapse violently into themselves, each with their own sorrows and problems, but great things too."

You should quit while you're ahead. Accept the happy ending, and be the heroic prince of Equestria.

"Or?"

There was a moment of silence. No words appeared, and there was nothing but darkness for several long and awkward ticks between then.

If you must, you could turn back to the first mistake. You will find your truth, but give up so much. It would not be your rainbow. On the other hand, I could make a promise then.

Silver raised a brow, even as he filled with dread and curiosity. "And what would that promise be?"

You will never be fooled in this way again. Even more astute than Luna, you will know the true nature of the reality you are aware of. Dream, lost reality, vision, or anything else.

"What will I lose?"

Who could say? I imagine you don't know where the story took this turn. I do, of course. No, I won't be telling. Don't do this. It may break you.

"You've said that before." He scowled at the words. "I'm tired of being treated both as a hostile alien and a delicate doll, one moment from breaking. I can handle it!"

Can you? Are you willing to say goodbye to some of the relations you've built? You were quite saddened last time this happened, and that wasn't long ago.

Silver licked over his lips. "Would I lose my wives?"

Two.

Silver reeled back.

Accept the happy ending.

What is Text even talking about? What gross typo does it allude to, and should we just accept the happy ending for what it is, or risk so much more?

I am not sure how to answer this I am happy with the ending but at he same time I will miss Silver. I just don't really know how to answer.
a time role back that far will be huge two wives lost witch would mean two foals lost so much change.
I am sure DS remembers how I feel about that.
I think I am going to trust in David Silver for this one as his skill with this story is exultant and it looks as if the text is going to be working with us this time,
lets pull the pin and see ware we all end up.

Wow. After all this time I'm not certain what Silver will choose pr even should choose. I almost regret my desire for an epilogue now.

Personally I'd be leaning towards leaving things as they are, better the devil you know, and all that. However every time in the past that Silver has been given the choice between the easy path and the more difficult path to his rainbow, he's gone charging toward the perfect victory like a good gamer tends to do.

Now we will see if the wisdom and maturity he has earned through tears, agony, and moments of joy will aid him in his decision now. Is this a game he's playing to win or is it a life he's living?

here is something for everypony to think about. will Silver keep his memories?
and if he keeps them you know he will be torchered with them. after all his greatest weakness and strength is one in the same his wife's / family / herd and his love of them all.

Gosh, rewinding so far back.... Twilight is definitely gone, she's the most recent.
The fun part is that the reader can simply stop on their own and accept the happy ending for themselves, but then always be nagged that there came something after that was not.
Keep going! ;)

Ok, so now I have finally come to the end of this, very long multiple twisting bunny holes that has now left me more confused the knot. So much good was undone, something's not fix. Going back now and waking up to the real world of the story, I don't know. It scares me knowing that. But everything has to move on, and so most I. This was a uumm interesting nightmare to say the least. You come close to breaking me many times. But I am made of tougher stuff.
