It has been exactly one year since the faithful day that Mary discovered herself trapped in Equestria, and she’s not sure what there is to do about it. She isn’t the biggest fan of the world she has found herself in, being the only human didn’t help, but she had found a place to live and a job. What else could someone ask for?
Luckily she has a few friends, including Lyra, who’s more than willing to help her odd friend feel better. Even if that means dragging her to Canterlot for reasons of her own.

Very gentle and sweet. I'm mostly impressed by her ability to play with a dry reed.

I have been playing around with sort of an anthology idea, kind of intersections in time of her life in Equestria, but that's still up in the air.

What I'm trying to figure out is how a griffon could play a clarinet in the first place, what with the whole lacking of lips thing.

I'm glad Mary found something she understands. I see a wonderful musical future for her. I think she will make many new friends and be far more happier than she was. At least I hope so.

You're more right then you know. Her music skill (which is more special then it might appear at first) will become a large part of her life after she leaves Ponyville (joining up with a friend to 'walk the earth' for a few years, picking up a number of other friends in the process).
I do want to write more about Mary, but as that might be a while I would be happy to explain what the special bit is if you would like to know. :)
