a most lovely story. this one was amazing! and i don't notmally like one shots. they feel too short for me but this one was handled beautifully.

Nice storie and love to see both sisters

luna seems to have matured, and come into her own. im glad to see that she has also become an inspiration to many ponies. she has come to be as awesome as celestia herself. I love luna and long to give her all the support I can. she is no longer the shy, immature princess she was upon returning from her exile. she has become a powerful figure in my eyes, and deserves as much respect, and admiration as her sister. they both seem to have become much more mature with experience. I know that luna will succeed celestia as the ruler of equestrian, and twilight will succeed her. I am sad that their lives are so complicated, with the length of their existence.it is sad that their immortality takes such a toll on their love. they have seen so much, and lived through many hard times. but their long wait is almost over. they will not outlive twilight. the changes are monumental to say the least. it will be the dawn of a new age when they go. all they can do is try to make sure that everything, and everyone is as prepared as possible, for their eventual departure. their memories will haunt everyone no doubt for generations, but they will be remembered with great love by the ponies that knew them best. I hope that twilight will surround herself with as many friends as she can, because they will be her support in trying times. she will need all the support of her friends, to see her through the times of the memories that will haunt to her dying day.

Beautiful. Just beautiful.

I had this story in my Read Later list for a while, and finally came to read it. This was quite a piece. The initial nightmare was well-described, and the conversation between Luna and Celestia really gave us insight into their general states of mind. While it's not the first time I've seen it, seeing Luna as the one to console Celestia instead of the other way around is always great to read. Sometimes people write 'mature Luna' well, sometimes not so much, but you did it nicely.
My only qualm about her here is the inconsistency of her use of Modern and current English. Slipping back into the 'old tongue' only in states of heightened emotion would make sense, like when she initially burst into Celestia's room, but using it in as casual a line as this one...

“Are thou sure? It is still a few hours before morning and thou really should still be resting.”

...takes away from the intensity if she's speaking in the 'current tongue' in other places. Swapping back and forth with no trigger downplays her dialogue a bit for me, but only just. Aside from that, this was a great story.

*Note*: Yes, believe it or not, the old-style English that Luna used in the show is called Modern English, not 'Archaic' or 'Old' English like many people (including myself, until somewhat recently) say. I had to take a class on the history of the English language to learn that.
