Hmm. Could be better. The reactions were just a tad quick. I imagine that Nyx would be jumping at the chance to meet her little brother and sister. But you have my interest!
There's a lot that could be said here if you're truly interested in improving your story.
First piece of advice: Find a prereader! Really, no author should publish a story without one. An author is rarely able to see the flaws in their own writing, but a second (or fifth) set of eyes will help you make your story read well before you hand it over to the general public.
Since this story is so short at the moment, it really wouldn't take much time at all to give you a thorough critique if you are interested. It might help you more to do it sooner rather than later. I could take an hour or so and do this if you'd like.

I like the idea of this story it's just seems to be hitting like a blunt object. It could honestly be better, everyponies reactions to Nyx seem to be rather flat to me.

One of the more interesting fanons that I've read about Nyx has her following her True Talent of protecting the innocent into the Royal Guard. Given Starburst's interest in following in her father's footsteps, her older sister could quite quickly turn into a role model and personal idol of hers!
Twilight would be right to be a bit nervous. Imagine if you had a child who wanted to go into the military and had a cool older sibling who was a SEAL, Delta Force or something! Who knows what the kid would do to impress them!
One thing that this story would need is an explanation as to where Nyx has been all these years. Travelling the world to learn the many magics of the earth pony, pegasus and unicorn tribes? Attempting to 'find herself' via some magical quest? Living with Celestia and Luna to learn how to endure the burden of being an Eternal Alicorn? Some wholly unbelievable adventure involving multiple dimensions? Or has she just been on assignment as a Guardspony and this has been her first chance in ages to have leave in Ponyville?
The Apples just keep sprouting new members like an apple tree grows apples, don't they?
Think about this: T and Claire are sort-of Nyx's nephew and niece as Spike is kind of Twilight's baby brother.
FWIW, I've always thought that Nyx's full name was Nyx Sparkle but that's probably just me.

We still need to know what adventure Nyx has been on. I would also like for her to meet Discord, Nidra and Illusion. Especially Nidra!
