Denny's. A greasy hive of bacon and eggs. Stephen is working the graveyard shift, slowly letting the minutes tick by, when he gets an unusual visitor...

A little story I had the idea of most likely in the shower. Based on my seeing THIS image late at night. Because staying up to 2:30 in the morning was a good idea.

Featured 10 Feb 2015! Y'all are weird, but I like you.

By the way, I don't own Denny's logo, menu items, etc. etc. please don't sue.

That was so cute i love it i hope you do more of these you should have different pony show up or such

Ok this is just my opinion: but this is a good story, great even...for the concept alone I read this, then the grammar and what not is spot on by my eyes, so hay for you :pinkiehappy:

Thank you! I was thinking of doing that in the future, but it may be a while since I have school and such to deal with. We shall see.

Thank you! Hay is appreciated, even if such grains aren't exactly edible for humans.

I have no words to describe reading this...it just is that well executed.

I love the sentiment of "ending up at Denny's" that is all too true from my experience.

Certainly a very cute story, nicely done.

That must have been a weird conversation for the short order cook to listen in on.

Very enjoyable

Don't like the thought of ponies eating meat, but the story was enjoyable. Luna's reaction to coffee was funny. The talk of 'moonshine' was funnier.

This was a very well executed story! Good job with it, its simple, clean, to the point, and rather cute with the characters.

LOL! This was a GREAT story; a sequel and/or continuation would make me really happy!

Good story and nice twist at the end

38 likes and no dislikes? C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!!!! Jk! Great story, very simple yet enjoyable.

:rainbowlaugh:
I gotta admit, that was unexpected... Also, when he called the woman 'Celly', I knew he was talking to Celestia. :trollestia:

Short and sweet. I could totally see something like this happening.

This was cute, but I give it a minus point for not having a 'Gram Slamwich' mentioned.

(please note, I didn't downvote it or anything. My minus point is internet points, and like Whos Line is it Anyway, the points don't matter.)

Huh.

Denny's sounds like Waffle House but with better decor.

5614365 Having grown up around Denny's and being a recent transplant to Ohio, yes. I'd say you're absolutely correct.

I happen to be on my phone at Denny's after my favorite restaurant was closed due to repairs on the roof, reading this story.
I guess you really do end up at Denny's.

Please tell me you're going to run with this... No one has used this concept before, I like it!

Haha. I'm with Luna on the coffee.

Well, author, I love it. It's silly and strange and I like the idea that Celestia makes midnight runs to get her carnivore fix goin' on. :pinkiehappy: The threat of memory alteration was a bit harsh, though.

Ah, well, have a like and a fave, mainly because like you, I often stay up way too late and this is the sort of insane musings that rumble through my sleep-deprived mind so late at night. Well, day for me, since I'm on third shift, but same difference.

Denny's is like Waffle House in that they're both cheap food, and the quality varies widely between franchise owners.

Generally speaking, though, I'd rather eat at a Denny's than a Waffle House unless I know otherwise. A typical Denny's is better than a typical Waffle House in my experience.

But not that Denny's, the good one further down the road.

Read that image, laughed, and then thought to myself, "This needs more chocolate pudding."

A silly, but an interesting read. Probably best that it was a short story.

One thing I noticed you doing was have multiple sentences in a row start with 'I'. You don't want to have that.

Good to know, I'll keep that in mind for future stories. Glad you liked it!.

, I reexamined the coins. They had all transformed into run-of-the-mill dollar coins. Legitimate United States currency.

Well, technically, they're counterfeits. Extremely accurate counterfeits. It's actually quite clever Luna used dollar coins rather than dollar bills, which would have serial numbers that are either duplicates of existing bills or numbers that haven't been printed, making the counterfeits obvious.

Some nice fluff you got here.

Yay, that was a great, cute, and awesome short story! I love how Luna interacts with the human and her reaction to drinking coffee the first time. I also love how there was a reference to "Drop of Moonshine" fanfic at the end.

And wait. This is your first story on Fimfiction? :pinkiegasp: Well, then. Congratulations on writing your first and successful story on this site! Good luck on your future works on this site! :pinkiehappy:

5614245 Bit of a giveaway, that.

Casually threatening mind rape. You're such a charmer, Sunbutt. :trollestia:

This was a fun little story overall, I'd say.

Strangely, I'm the exact opposite. I refuse to go to Denny's since my mother got food poisoning from them in ... 1995? I've never had issue with Waffle House and I can see how clean (or otherwise) the 'kitchen' is from the bar.

First try at it huh? I have to say that was the most shocking part I read. First story and it makes the feature box. You must write a lot to do this good in the first try. Great job my friend. I certainly enjoyed this story, and if I worked at a Denny's and Luna walked in I would probably lock her in the tightest and longest hug I have ever given.

5614885 While I'm at it, you may also want to add a space after ellipses (...). It doesn't really matter too much, but that's viewed as the "correct" way to do it.

5614953
Oh right, I didn't even consider that it's technically counterfeit money, but I suppose you're right! I didn't even think of the serial numbers thing.

5614985
Yeah, the "Drop of Moonshine" reference was intentional, I loved that story. Thanks for the kind words!

Coughs* pancakes are better at ihop****

Also moonshine. Pretty good

Now for the sequel: "You Don't Go To Ihop..."

I suppose you have in mind a sequel, where all four princesses come in as a group. Much to the surprise of Stephen.

No one purposely goes to Denny's, or Waffle House.

People just end up there after a hangover.

5615448 I don't know, I can see someone going to a Waffle House on purpose. Like, they really, really want some waffles, and it's in the name.

I've never actually been to a Waffle House, are the waffles good?

And just when I was going to meet some friends tomorrow at a denny's. Well done my friend! You definitely made my day

CellyxStephen? I ship it. :twilightsmile::rainbowlaugh::trollestia:

Every late night road trip ended up at Denny's more me.

5615570 I go to Waffle House on purpose, multiple times a week. Are they good? It depends entirely on the particular Waffle House you go to. Some Waffle Houses use better products, some hire better cooks, etc. The Waffle House within walking distance of me makes the BEST damn waffles I've ever had, and their hash browns are pretty damn good, too. I've eaten at other Waffle Houses, and none of them have held a candle to the one I live by. I'd say most Waffle Houses aren't anything special.

A very nice cookie story.

5615749 really? We usually end up at some ghetto breakfast place XD

MEANWHILE AT THE LEGION OF DOOM INSIDE DENNY'S KITCHEN

I wonder what is taking my order so long

(I had this happen to me awhile ago)

5615644 hopefully that going to be the sequel

I hate how Denny's treats it's employees.

HHAAATTTEE!!!

Hate.

uhm... I mean : Neat.

Neat story that is.

That was interesting.

5615790 The IHOP I go to cleans the glasses and leaves the cleaning soap in there, so every time I go there I wish I could say, "Waiter, I'd like a too small glass of WAAAAY overpriced O.J. with a twist of detergent please."

5615880 This... Explains a lot...

I guess it's personal experience. The worst thing that ever happened to me at a Denny's was my group was asked to leave (a friend of mine was still drunk and making a racket), and the food is usually decent. Waffle Houses, on the other hand, I've only been in one that actually had good food that I want to go back again, the rest have been poor food and the restaurants look as bad as the food tastes.
