I spent a few days trying to put down exactly what I wanted to say here. Nothing quite seems to say what I want it to. Granted this story is incredibly well done and builds upon an often explored area of Pinkie Pie, but there's more here than just stellar execution on an interesting topic. Its both evocative and introspective, engaging and enveloping, thought-provoking and entertaining.

I'm very glad that I've read it. It really isn't about birthdays anymore.

Faved and thumbed. I do disagree with the whole "Pinkie Pie has split personality" thing, but this fic has so much meaning that it deserves all the love.

Another different reason why Pinkie could have forgotten about her own birthday could be that she doesn't care about being at the centre. Just like me, where I have a degree in Tourism and plan vacations anywhere, for any set of interests and at any budget, yet I don't really like to travel.
Hey, consider how I plan birthdays: for someone else I may plan full-day parties caressing to their interests, yet my friends know that my perfect birthday is to get a hug, a quiet congrats, and a promise to hang out like normal the next Saturday.
