This is my spin that was inspired by the Hub promo for Villaintine's Day and the film "Maleficent". Discord has lived happily in the Everfree Forest until an unforeseen event robs him of his teleportation and most of his flight . As an act of vengeance, he curses the newborn filly Twilight Sparkle to eternal sleep. Discord soon regrets this and tries to save her from her fate.

Born into. Then a freakish accident that had something to do with Discord.
Born into... This would give the whole story a bit of a twist (
had to put Twist in) in knowing that Cadence was actually truly related Chrysallis, so then Twilight is related to her also. 
I don't know why, but this would make the story more interesting for me.

I love how you had Discord break the fourth wall. I hated how the king died in the movie. Maleficent wouldn't have let that happen. Having Discord change that was a wonderful touch!

I really think that
1) Fluttershy should've been swapped with Celestia, and
2) Twilight should've been swapped with Fluttershy.
Don't get me wrong: I like this story, but the casting could've fit the cannon better and that's always a good thing. I have nothing against the Fluttercord in this - I actually love it - but I can never see Twilight 'stealing the rest of Discord's broken heart' and not Fluttershy. Also, Celestia is an alicorn and she would've visited less and less as she grew older because of the responsibility she held by being a Princess.
I'm not hating on this story. This is a good take on Disney's 'Maleficent.'
