Oh look, yet ANOTHER Petitprincess story to track... my my my.
The guard captain, proud as he was however, could only listen as his little sister and her friends trotted away, listening to their laughter. Laughing at him. He was almost disappointed in his sister, for laughing at somepony, nevermind her brother, in a time of humiliation and need. So much for her friendship lessons, hell, so much for being a half-decent pony.
The white stallion turned his head to Sombra, whom was still wearing that smug look. And that was the tipping point. Shining Armour took a step towards Sombra, who's expression softened, a more genuine smile spreading across his face. Perhaps he was preparing to say something to soothe his lover, maybe pucker up for a kiss, but he didn't get the chance before Shining's fore-head smacked into his muzzle.
With a cry and a few stumbled steps back, Sombra looked up and Shining, holding his muzzle, which was pumping blood steadily, and found him tearing his collar off and tossing it at him. Looking down at the collar, and then back up at the stallion, Sombra could only watch dejectedly as Shining Armour pushed past him.
"Find somepony else to wear your collars" he spat, without even looking at Sombra. The corner of the black stallion's eyes went down as Shining trotted off, Twilight and her friends having turned around in shock at the sound of Sombra's scream and watching him march towards them, all sound of laughter dying as they saw Sombra, tears in his eyes and blood running down his lips.
As he pushed past Twilight, he batted her around the head, as siblings would when scolding one another, but much harder than Twilight could remember him ever doing before. Shooting hard looks at the ponies he didn't have the moral right to strike at that point, he left the insensitive ponies to it.
Sombra could only watch him go, his tear of pain subsiding, but his tears didn't stop falling.
"Oh no" was all he could say.
