The Wandering Bard

"I am a singer, a poet, a musician, a storyteller. I am a bard at heart. That is who I am. That is what I shall always be." (Icon by atokota on FurAffinity)

After the Royal Sisters came into power, explorers set out across Equestria to make new discoveries and to report what they found. Dashing Hoof was one such pony, and his discovery was perhaps the most magical of all.

and they became known as stars, in honor of Star Swirl the Bearded

I looove it!

This was really something special. I'll be watching for more!

Thank you very much! I also loved your story Daughter of Sol, and will be watching for more as well. Glad you liked it!

5608126

Aw crap now I guess I have to finish that, don't I :twilightoops:

Haha, only if you want to or feel that you can. I know how hard it can be to force a story out. But should you continue it, I will read it with excitement! It is a wonderful creation myth for the world. Great job with it!

My problem is that I'm primarily a comedy writer. I could write an entire comedy story in the time it takes to write a chapter of something like Sol.

Anyways don't want to clog up your comment section talking about MY story.

But really, I'm happy to see Sol getting a little love.

It's a great story for sure. And thank you for showing my story some love, too!

What a sweet little story. Have a like and favourite!

Thank you so much! Glad to see you're enjoying it!

Why, I would be flattered if you used this idea! You're really such a kind person, Emylia. And as always, thank you for pointing out those edits. For the portion you pointed out, I was trying to make her dialogue all part of one sentence, but your suggestion looks much better. I'll change it in a sec. Once again, thank you for the favorite!

I love stories about Equestria's history.

I'm glad to hear it! I cannot wait to see what more you come up with.

But if they were named for Starswirl, what was he named for...?

Yeah, I know. :rainbowlaugh: Even I'm wondering about that, but rest assured that I am trying to come up with an answer.

Well, he IS a time traveler...

Wouldn't it be a trip if they named stars after him, and he went back in time to name himself after the stars, creating some kind of time loop? :rainbowlaugh:

:rainbowlaugh: That would be awesome indeed!

This story is engaging and downright magical! I was smiling from beginning to end! Excellent! :D

Thank you very much, my friend, and thank you for adding this to your favorites!

You're very welcome. My pleasure.

This was a really fun story. It's really nicely well contained and easy to read. Lyric is quite the story spinner  And it's also short and sweet, taking no time to read at all. Definitely a great Equestrian fireside story.

Thank you, Kestrel! I am glad that you enjoyed it!

Mhm, I can listen to people tell stories like that all day. I just usually get those style of stories from smaller children. They're always so much fun

6187038
They are! :pinkiehappy: If you haven't already, I hope you check out my other stories!

Yeah, I already read Magical Melodies. I liked that one too. To be honest, I've never wondered about where music came from in our world. It's just kind of always been there. A very interesting premise, and it was a lot of fun to read. And like I've said, I deeply enjoy those fireside type stories, and not to mention it was an OC tale, which I love cause OC writing is fun.

6187083
*facehoof* I remember that now. *laughs* And yes, OC stories are so much fun! It's especially interesting to see which ones stick around to become part of a larger narrative and which ones fall to the wayside.

6187099

Most of mine have been one-offs, but they're still fun to remember and write. And you can always come back to them.

6187102
Exactly! And it's great when you do have that moment where you can bring them back.

~eloquently written,...10/10 loved it

Hello, MV! Thank you for stopping by and checking out this story.

Lyric is indeed an ongoing character, and if you look near the top and to the right of my userpage, you'll find a list of all the stories she's in so far. It's labelled "A (Loose) Chronology".

A short one, but another great tale from Lyric nonetheless. I like how 'easily' you can connect the present Equestria with stories from ancient times, topping it with music interludes.
If I may, I'll share a little interesting fact this story reminded me of... A story of bioluminiscence from New Zealand;

Hey, thanks so much! I really appreciate your feedback, and I'm glad that you're enjoying her tales!

And I love that link you posted. It's definitely fitting!

7955636 You're welcome

Nature is simply the true magician. Those are larvae of the Arachnocampa fly, luring other insects with their light.

Nature really is a magician as, as you said. Their glow is so lovely, but it is interesting to know its true purpose.
