Epilogue

Back in Equestria, Princess Twilight Sparkle’s pony friends — Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity — waited patiently near the Crystal Mirror within its secret room in her castle. When she and Spike had left for the Lego World, the five friends had agreed to take turns watching the portal to ensure that Twilight would have at least one of her friends there to greet her whenever she would return. However, now that they were approaching three days since her departure, all five ponies had decided to start waiting together. Twilight had promised that she and Spike wouldn’t be gone for long, so it was understandable that they would start getting concerned after a few days.

In addition to the five mares, the engineer stallion Rusty Wrench also waited beside the Crystal Mirror. Twilight had instructed him to constantly watch the machinery he had constructed to open the portal and make sure that it would stay open until she returned. For him, it had definitely been a long three days. Fortunately, Fluttershy and Rarity had been kind and generous enough to keep him comfortable and well fed. And with Applejack and Pinkie Pie keeping watch overnight, he was able to get some rest with the assurance that if anything went wrong, he would be immediately woken to deal with the problem right away.

By the middle of the afternoon, the six gathered ponies were steadily growing anxious when something suddenly flew out of the mirror. Everypony immediately snapped their attention towards the object, but then some of them raised an eyebrow when they saw that it was nothing more than a simple red baseball cap. Interestingly, the front of it appeared to be customized with the word “LEGO” embroidered on it.

As everyone stared at the mysterious hat, Fluttershy asked uncertainly, “Should we send it back?”

It was right at that moment that a fully loaded book cart came through the portal, immediately followed by a certain lavender alicorn and purple baby dragon. The instant they came through, the book cart went over the steps in front of the Crystal Mirror and toppled over, causing Twilight to lose her grip on the handle and fall over onto all four hooves.

“Twilight!” exclaimed the five mares excitedly as they quickly rushed over to their friend and embraced her in a group hug.

Twilight smiled warmly as she returned the hug to all of her friends. Once they broke off the hug, she calmly explained, “Sorry for being away for a few days. Things turned out to be a lot more difficult than I had anticipated, but my Lego friends and I were able to defeat the sirens and save the Lego World.”

“That’s a relief,” said Rarity. “I simply can’t imagine how horrible things might have turned out for the Lego World had you not assisted them.”

“Believe me, the sirens came extremely close to succeeding,” said Twilight. “In fact, I don’t think we could’ve had any chance of stopping them if we didn’t have Sunset Shimmer around to help us.”

“Whoa, whoa, whoa!” Rainbow Dash suddenly spoke up. “You’re saying that Sunset Shimmer actually helped you beat the bad guys?”

“In more ways than one,” replied Twilight with a proud smile and a nod. “And the best part is that, thanks to her efforts, she will not be going back to prison. Instead, she’ll only be on probation for a year.”

“Well Ah’ll be,” remarked Applejack in astonishment with a smile. “That girl really has turned her life around, hasn’t she?”

“Alright! It worked!” Spike shouted excitedly as he picked up the hat that had come through the portal a moment earlier. He quickly put the red cap on his head and was pleasantly surprised to find that not only did it still fit his drake cranium, but also felt like it was now made out of soft fabric instead of solid plastic. When everypony gave him confused looks, he simply shrugged and said, “What can I say? I really like this hat!”

Twilight just smiled and rolled her eyes.

Behind the Princess of Friendship, Rusty Wrench asked uncertainly, “So, uh, now that you’re back, should I shut this thing off?”

Twilight glanced back at Rusty, then smiled and replied, “Don’t worry, I got this.” She levitated the magic journal out of its slot on the apparatus. With the power source gone, all of the complex machinery quickly shut down, sealing off the portal between the two alternate universes. As she picked up the book cart and levitated all of the dumped books back onto it, she asked, “Did this apparatus remain functional the entire time I was away?”

“Well, it did shut down twice due to some minor breakdowns,” admitted Rusty, “but I was able to get it all fixed and back up and running within an hour for both incidents.”

“Thank you very much,” said Twilight with a nod of approval. “I’ll be sure to call you over the next time I need to open the portal. For now, you’re free to return home.”

“Thanks,” said Rusty contently as he hefted his saddlebags full of tools onto his back. “And feel free to drop by my workshop if you ever happen to visit Las Pegasus. Bye, girls!” He gave one final smile at the group of friends, then turned away and began heading out of the castle.

Once she had properly put all of the books back on the book cart, Twilight placed her magic journal on top of it and pushed the cart ahead with her magic.

“What’s all this for?” asked Rainbow Dash as she raised an eyebrow.

“Study material on everything about the Lego World,” answered Twilight. “Now that I wasn’t in a serious rush to get home, I decided to take the time to collect all of the really important texts to help me better understand how the Lego World works, and compare the differences and similarities it shares with Equestria.”

“Are you sure they won’t mind you taking all these books?” asked Fluttershy.

“Of course it’s okay with them,” replied Twilight. “After all, it was their Celestia who gave these to me.”

Applejack chucked and quipped, “Ah guess some things never change, do they?”

Twilight couldn’t help but giggle at Applejack’s remark as she led her friends out into the hallway. Once the room containing the Crystal Mirror was empty, Twilight turned back to the doorway and repeated the secret knock on the floor. Once that knock was completed, the blocks of the surrounding walls began to shift around, grinding against each other as they automatically formed themselves into a solid wall between the room and the hallway. Within a few seconds, the final block slid back into place — the one she had initially pushed in to open the door. As she walked back to the book cart, she remarked, “Always remember to close the door on your way out. Especially if it’s a secret door.”

As Twilight pushed her book cart over to the library, Pinkie Pie pranced beside her and excitedly asked, “Are you gonna tell us everything about what you and our Lego-selves did to save to world from the sirens? I bet you guys did all kinds of fun things! Like teaming up with pirates, or Spike building a double-decker couch, or Lego-me getting her head stuck inside a trashcan, or even—”

“Whoa, there, Pinkie,” Twilight suddenly said. “I’ll get around to all of that. For now, I’d just like to relax and enjoy being back in Equestria with all of you.”

As Twilight’s pony friends followed her towards the castle’s library, they all said various words of agreement. Although they were certainly very eager to hear all about Twilight’s latest adventure in the Lego World, there was no denying how glad they were to have their friend back home, safe and sound.

Adagio Dazzle had a bitter look on her face as she picked up yet another medium grey 2x4 brick and placed it on the unfinished wall.

Clack.

She and her two companions, Aria Blaze and Sonata Dusk, were slowly rebuilding the walls of LEGO Maximum Security Prison under the close watch of a few security guards.

Click.

The three of them were wearing orange prison jumpsuits and had their wrists bound by handcuffs. At least they were able to keep their hair pieces in their usual style.

Clack.

Adagio paused as she picked up another grey Lego brick and stared at it. “All in all, you’re just another brick in the wall,” she grumbled before placing that brick on the wall.

Click.

“We were so close,” continued Adagio in frustration. “We were so close! We could’ve had every single person in the world catering to our every demand. Instead, those insolent Master Builders just had to keep standing in our way!”

Clack.

While Sonata continued adding bricks to the wall, Aria paused as she faced away from Adagio. The violet former siren frowned and furrowed her brow as she heard the group’s self-proclaimed leader continue her rant.

“And that’s not even the worst part,” continued Adagio. “We had the power to stop them, even at the last minute. But who is it that took us down with great power that suddenly came out of nowhere?”

Click.

Shimmer,” spat Adagio. “How did she of all people suddenly become a Master Builder just like that?! She was supposed to be a hated felon with no creative talents whatsoever! It makes no sense!”

Clack.

“And now she’s granted freedom with nothing more than a slap on the wrist, while we’re the ones who get to rot in jail for the rest of our lives. I swear, if we ever get out of this miserable dump, I’ll—”

Finally fed up, Aria growled loudly and shouted, “Stop complaining already!” With the grey 2x2 brick in her hands, she smacked Adagio’s head right off her body. She then shoved that brick onto Adagio’s neck joint and grumbled, “Brick-head.”

Adagio screamed as her head came back down and landed on the ground a few paces behind her still-standing body.

Sonata suddenly started laughing out loud as she clutched her sides. “That is so funny!” she exclaimed between giggles. “Because you took off her head, and replaced it with a brick!” Her laughter now became so uncontrollable that she collapsed to the ground and started rolling around while still clutching her sides.

Aria frowned down at Sonata with displeasure, but when she glanced back at Adagio’s body with a brick for a head, she couldn’t help but crack a smile and let out a light chuckle. “Hey. That is kinda funny,” she quipped. She then joined with her own laughter, though unlike the blue former siren, she remained composed enough to stay standing.

While the two girls continued laughing at Adagio’s expense, her body crossed her arms while her head glared at them and grumbled, “You two are just the worst.”

Sunset Shimmer was enjoying another bright sunny day in City Park of Canterlot City as she sat down on a bench that offered a clear view of the horse statue not far away. She looked down at her magic journal resting on her lap and smiled as she read the latest entry from Princess Twilight. She turned the page over to a blank page and, with a pen in her hand, she began writing.

Dear Princess Twilight,
Missing you already, and I hope you’ll be back soon. Things are definitely looking up for me here in the Lego World. But I know I still have a lot to learn about friendship. Hope you don’t mind if I write to you for advice when I need it.
Your friend, Sunset Shimmer.

With her message complete, Sunset glanced up and saw Rainbow Dash walking up the path towards her.

“Hey, Sunset!” greeted Rainbow excitedly. “Word’s getting out about how much our band rocked that night, and people wanna hear more from us! Our first gig is right at the other side of the park tomorrow afternoon, and we could use someone like you as lead singer. What do ya say?”

Sunset glanced back down at the message she had just written, then closed the book and smiled at Rainbow. “Count me in,” she answered as she got up from the bench and followed Rainbow down the path.

After everything that had happened over the past week — rising from a hated felon to an admired Master Builder — Sunset couldn’t be more pleased with her new lease on life.

Inside a dimly-lit room in an unknown location, a mysterious stranger in a standard astronaut suit stared at a board on the wall. Posted on this board were various notes; pictures of a spaceship over a castle, a flying train, a submarine stranded on a beach, and a pirate ship in a city harbor; a blueprint of the dark broadcasting towers; and a map of Canterlot City with City Park circled in red. As the stranger continued staring at the board, the only noise to be heard was the faint hissing of the suit’s breathing system.

Crash!

“My bad!” called out the voice of a boy, followed by the clacking of Lego pieces being put back together. After a few seconds, the voice spoke up again. “Y’know, you don’t have to keep wearing that thing. You’re not exactly out in public right now.”

As the boy resumed fixing whatever he had accidentally destroyed, the stranger waited a few seconds before finally disconnecting the helmet with a light hiss and lifting it off.

Once he was done building, the purple-skinned boy with a red cap on his head walked over to the stranger and asked, “So, uh, anything new lately?”

The stranger had lavender skin, a hair piece that was tied up in a bun and colored dark blue with a violet and magenta streak down the middle, and wore a pair of black thick-rimmed glasses.

“No doubt about it, Spike,” said Twilight Sparkle of the Lego World. “There’s definitely some strange things going on…”

Author's Note:

After eight months of writing, this story is now complete. As you might have figured out by now, there will be another sequel, and just like last time, you can expect to see it sometime early next year. I've already got some ideas, but none of them will be firmly established until after I see Friendship Games. (Good thing it'll premier on TV instead of in the movie theater, which means I'll be able to see it much sooner than I did with the previous movies.) My previous stories also drew inspiration from "the Adventures of Clutch Powers" and "the LEGO Movie", but since there are no other Lego movies at this time, I'll need to get really creative with the third story. I am also considering writing some more short stories like I did last year, though I'm still undecided on that at this time.

I would also like to take this opportunity to mention something else. Earlier this year, a long-time friend of mine started writing his first MLP fanfiction, which you can find over here. It's an interesting story, but grammar and formatting need some work (understandable, since English is not his native language). I've been offering helpful advice wherever I can, but it always seems like I'm the only one commenting on that story, and there's only so much I can do on my own. Perhaps if some of you who have been nice enough to comment on my stories could do the same for my friend's story, I'm sure he would really appreciate it (as well as me).

This was a worthy sequel to a fine fanfic. And I look forward to Lego Friendship Games.

The space suit person...

Was Lego!Twilight all along?

Dun dun DUN!

I highly enjoyed this story.

I eagerly await Lego Friendship Games!!

Friendship Games? Is there going to be another Equestria Girls movie? Man I'm behind on the news.

Great story! Can't wait for the next story!

Someone pick up that phone, because i f:yay:ing called it!

And this story wraps up just before Friendship Games, great job on promptly finishing it on time.

Glad you added another scene in the pony world, though. I was surprised there wasn't one of these in the original movie.

EDIT: One thing these stories need, though, is proper coverart. I suggest you join the Art for Fanfiction group, or possibly contact the artist who did the coverart for JusSonic's stories, as those coverarts are pretty good (which is prety much the only thing good about those stories).

6449799 Dude, that movie's out next Saturday. How did you not know about it with all the advertising Discovery Family's been doing the past two weeks? If you watched FiM these past two weeks (and I know you did), then you had to have seen trailers.

6453268 The trailers probably ran during the end cridits right? Cause I usually shut off the vid when the credits start. (I watch it on Youtube)

6453368 It's the last advertisement before it comes out of commercial break. You can see it easily if you're on a livestream.

6453372 Nah, I don't watch livestreams. I watch the episodes on Youtube later.

6453377 Then most likely someone recorded those from the livestreams and uploaded them on YouTube as well. Try doing some searching.

6447661 To be honest, I was concerned that people would have figured it out before this story was even halfway over. I guess I'm glad to see that I still managed to surprise at least a few people (and makes me feel more confident with some ideas I've got floating around for the next story). For those who did already figure it out earlier, I am very pleased that you were all respectful enough to not spoil it ahead of the big reveal.

6449799 You should visit Equestria Daily more often. That's where I get all of my pony news.

6453268 I've been open to cover art since the day I started the very first story. I guess if no one has come to me after all this time, I'll need to get a little more proactive in searching for a proper artist. (I don't know anyone with experience in drawing Lego minifigures, and I've always been hesitant to go out and look for anyone who might have that experience and is also interested in my stories.)

6461136 Just add the story to the Art for Fanfiction group, and someone should help you design a good cover art. That's how Blade Star got cover art for his story, after all.

I have conflicted feelings right now.

I'm sad that it's over (:fluttercry:), but I. WANT. MOAAAAAAAR!:flutterrage::flutterrage::flutterrage::flutterrage:

Idea for Friendship Games!

The games are celebrated at the day Princess Twilight and the others defeated the Dazzlings and restored peace! Meanwhile, President Business goes cuckoo, a regular minifig dude gets tied, gets Business to his regular mind.

And Twilight Brick-le (cuase WHY not) crashes Canterlot City's 4th games.

I'm actually surprised the police men watching them didn't also find it funny and laugh as well.
