(Post-Mass Effect 3)(FemShep)
When the Reapers were defeated, the galaxy believed that Shepard and Anderson were both lost in the final battle. However, the two long-time friends were also known for not letting death stand in their way.
Waking up, in the middle of a desert, on an uncharted planet they both embark on their strangest mission yet. Attempting to find their way back to the Human Alliance, a place called Canterlot may hold the answers they seek. But first, they had to get there while trying not to draw too much attention to themselves.
Too bad for Anderson since massive explosions and collateral damage followed Shepard wherever she went, without fail.

Always been a big Mass Effect fan, so I'll check this story out...
Never played any Mass Effect games, but you've made it so that I don't have to to appreciate the story (Though, I have been given the broad strokes by friends.)
But mostly, I'm upthumbing and tracking because I really, really want to support stories that given Braeburn and Little Strongheart a relationship. Kudos for your good taste.

I considered not turning Shepard into a pony, but if you know anything about the endings then *spoiler* Shepard can either get blown up, vaporized, or absorbed. So she'd need a new body if she was to come back. At least that was my reasoning.
538051 Nah fem shepard is fine, its an alternate route from the usual male shepard..... and being a pony, could be contributed to the crucible... Shepard did activate it and her regular form was altered by it.

Well, actually if you choose the Destroy ending and have a high enough EMS, Shepard survives.
Also, Anderson should be dead as well, and yet he is still human...
Point is, pony Shepard is fine, but the explanation as to why just does not make a whole lot of sense to me.
I have tried to read one or two Mass Effect cross overs before and they have all been very disappointing. This is very well written though and it seems that you actually have a depiction that you are taking this. Anyway, this actually looks promising, so I will definitely be watching. Maybe you will convince me that a good Mass Effect/FIM cross over is possible.

Very interesting premise. I don't think I've ever seen a case where only one human out of a pair was transformed. Glad that Anderson isn't dead though. Another interesting idea to have the Buffalo as important characters. You really do know how to break the mould, don't you?

Though I did cringe a little when you turned Shepard into a pony. I'm really not a fan of Humans-turned-pony concept, but I'll give it a shot here. Hope you explain why she's a pony and not Anderson.
539077 I still didn't like the ending, I went in with ~9000 EMS GR at 100%. I'll hold off my final judgement until after the DLC but it will have to be one hell of a DLC to make up for what I felt was a massive letdown.
As for this story, I'm up in the air. Writing wise it is good, there are a few things I'm not sure of yet. The whole thing with the Buffalo is kind of meh but so long as they don't do something stupid (start a crusade/holy war/cult/"repent the end is come" BS) I can life with it. Not sure about the prophecy, if it is Shepard stopping a war/evil monster(s) okay, otherwise ~. As for pony Shepard; now I can live with humans-turned-pony (some of my favorite stories used that concept, even another Mass Effect/MLP I'm reading), that said I'm not feeling it this time, it feels forced. That's not to say it won't work but I feel it is going to be hard to make it feel right.
538125 As Humanist said Shepard can live if you pick the Destroy ending and you came packing overwhelming force. Granted Shepard is in really bad shape but he/she is alive. In that case you wouldn't have to give her a new body for the story.

As for the ending to ME3, I thought they were alright, still felt a little disappointed at the lack of closure as for the fate of your crew/the Alliance. I too hope the ending DLC will help bring some of these issues to rest. Anyway, I'm deliberately being vague as to which ending was chosen that had lead to this situation Shepard and Anderson are in. Its not fun if I just tell you right off the starting line, when it can be part of the exploration of this tale.

There are several call-backs to Mass Effect in this chapter. Which part are you referring to? I'm guessing your talking about the 'Shepard is Poor' video? If so, then I'm glad you enjoyed it cause I know I did.
i was thinking about ditching this story but after this chapter it really pulled me in expesualy the saloon part. and sence thr lack of masseffect 3 story's look like im stuck with this story ether way
also i wasent sure about the female sheperd i guese i would prefer the male vision but after chapter 2 she grew on me and i got used to it.

As for 'Mass Effect 2 - DLC: The Equestrian Equation' I lost interest in it after the last chapter, now 'Pony Effect' I'm a huge fan of.
As for the reader choices, I advise against it as they can ruin what would otherwise be a good story.
785911 Hah! I'm the opposite. I thought Pony Effect was a bit meh actually. I didn't want to relive the story how I knew it, and the Mane Six didn't really have any effect on the grand scheme of things. The Equestrian Equation on the other hand was going quite well... until the last chapter. Unless the next one's good, I think I might stop following that. This story's quite interesting in that it's less Mass Effect, and more just Shepard. I'm liking it so far, but I think I still prefer Pony Space.

I'm pretty sure the reason that she can continue to function right now is that Anderson is there (some one she knows/trusts) which adds some small amount of support to her mental stability.
