Think upon the summer rose, dainty as a twilight growing. Its claret silk and fragrant dress make light of all the thorns they’re showing. One prick and who beholds the beauty knows it as a monstrous beast. An instant roving through the senses. A heavy toll on love once pieced. Such a simple feat of virtue, this damsel asks from stoic knight. Glove like mail and steady hoof is all it takes to set things right. What a pity. What a fad. That this can’t work on a rose gone bad.
Rarity is severely out of practice when it comes to dating so she turns one of her old dress horses into a dating dummy. A life size puppet resembling the great Hoofio Canzoni. She forces Spike and the Cutie Mark Crusaders to be her date for the evening, that means dinner, sparkling cider, dancing under the stars and a sweet kiss on the cheek when it's over. Nothing could be simpler.....right?
By the way, unlike the description this story is not written in rhyme.

You guys are sweet. I'm pretty amazed this has been viewed plenty of times so far. Guess that's the power of the internet. I'll have the next chapter up pretty soon. I welcome any comments you want to make about this story but keep in mind that I plan on producing around five more chapters. Also I want to justify something that I wrote in the story in case anyone got offended.
Comic Con Vendors are the some of the most interesting and talented people that I've met in the last year and I own tons of personalized and wacky merchandise. I only wrote what I wrote because Rarity I feel would have some impression that though they are business minded it probably isn't their main job.
The same goes for low budget film makers. I've enjoyed working with you guys. This was more of a personal joke than Rarity's opinion. But yes, it would be nice to find a steady flow of advertisements for paid work instead of ones that make a point of displaying the words "Great Experience", "Good for CV", "Profit Share" or "Expenses paid".

*Spoiler alert* I won't be pairing her with Gibson. I won't even be writing as far as to describe how their date goes. He's just the first pony I could think of whose sibling goes to that school and since he's only been seen in the animatic there's a good reason why I chose to hide his appearance.
P.S. Rarity visiting the school wasn't something I was going to write. There's a point in chapter 2 that was going to be my starting point but I felt that it was better for me to build up to the point where she loses her mind rather than begin from where she's already snapped
I thought you have done a solid opening chapter to this story and I can't wait to read more this when it updates next. I am interested in the plot and your character representation of Rarity was on par. I'm hooked, simple as!

Oh yea, you will see a lot of insanity in the next few chapters. I don't know how many stories there are out there that tinker with the idea of Rarity going off the deep end but I would like to read them when i'm done. She's always been the drama queen but I can't think of a time you could say that she's gone insane. We see it very briefly at the end of Simple Ways and then she snaps back to reality.
In truth she's not an easy one to push to her limits and I don't know whether the ending I have in mind would do the trick but I'd love your opinions when i get to that stage
