Discord was just messing around. How was he supposed to know that device under a tarp hidden in the back of Twilight's basement surrounded by "Do Not Touch" signs was dangerous? Now he's in a whole new world, without the supervision of the Princesses.
Discord thinks its time to have some fun.
Set about six months after RD Meets RR. Discord is reformed, but Twilicorn hasn't happened.

Im guessing that the years in stone turned Chaos into the Discord we know today. I cant connect those two in my mind even though they are supposedly the same
5426883 I think I touch that in the next chapter, but the sisters caught him with severely depleted energy reserves. Imagine, if you will, that Discord is about 10% what Chaos was. All hes been reduced to is basically parlor tricks.

5426892 Discord seems a lot more childish and sillier than Chaos, and also I could never imagine him being a traditional tyrant with secret police, elaborate rules, etc. That seems too orderly. Also, your Discord is so cruel. All the stuff he did in the show (besides the corruption, which he didn't do merely to be cruel, only to take them out of commission to stop them from using the Elements) was just because him being childish and selfish, only caring about his own amusement, not actively being a tyrant. If he ruled, I think he would go from city to city shitting things up not have a permanent area
Maybe I'm tainted by what I think Discord is like (mainly AlaraJRogers Discord, which I strongly recommend) but Chaos seems OOC.

5427116 I don't really care what he acts like now, I was focusing on what he was like as Chaos and his other incarnations.
Scenario 1:
the thing with the depleted energy, he became desperate on Equis, and resorted to plain terror. however, in his desperacy, he lost most of his sanity, reducing him to that childish state.
Scenario 2/1.5:
Canon-wise, when the Princesses used the Elements, they probably started the change in his mind, stripping away a lot of his cruelty. then, when the Six did it again, it made him very susceptible to the power of friendship, which allowed them to reform him.
Finally, what the buck is OOC? I keep seeing that phrase, but what does it mean?

(In your story, do a combination of your second scenario and the insanity of centuries with sensory deprivation and no one to talk, in an unchanging state. Which is especially horribly when you are a creature of chaos and constantly need change and attention)
