Oh I understand I write a lot of tragedy. I've always been fascinated though that what some see as tragedy, another sees as a happy ending... Granted I doubt many would want to be in dash or vinyls place.
Try meeting my hero, secret story of big Mac, Scootaloo the fugitive, or some of the other hidden gems... I do write things with happy endings, they just don't get the kind of recognition a heart breaking tragedy does. :)

Though, while I don't care for dark or unhappy endings (even though I love stories like Fallout: Equestria), I love this because it has an open-ended ray of hope for Vinyl and Dash. That in mind, my only qualm is that Shine died. Personally I would have had him severely injured or in a coma, that way he's still alive but unable to tell people what happened. Just my opinion, the story is still awesome.

I still liked it, but, ya know, like everyone else that reads and comments on a story I have my little things that I would have preferred. 
Still a great story and the ray of hope was a great idea; perhaps I'd like more grimdark if they had a small one too.
For something like this, if I were Shine, Vinyl, or RD, I would've had a back-up plan. If Shine were incapacitated, another would take his place, or they would leave a note detailing what they were doing to have on Shine and in the house. Something this big doesn't go without all possible bases covered.
Now, I hated the epilogue. I wanna see both of their three-month pent-up orgasms destroy all of Ponyville!!!!
I want to see someone buy it and open it up (possibly Daring Do because of confusion with a lost artifact). Just imagine the parenthetical: RD wakes up with her idol Daring Do, and sexy threesome ensues.

A word of caution though: when you retconned Shine's death into a coma in "Three Months Later", you missed a bit:
