Gerald Wellesley, hunter, historian, politician, imperialist, and monarchist is transported from the modern day human realm (dimension, universe etc.) into Equestria, where he is given a taste of absolute power. Gerald must now make a very difficult decision. He must choose between the power that he has desired his whole life, or his newfound friends.

Okay, let me ask you: If you saw some strange creature you've never seen/heard of, and looks like nothing you've seen/heard of before wearing clothes and carrying a backpack would you honestly think it's a wild, or even domesticated, animal? That's something that annoys me the most when the author has a human turn up in Equestria unconscious. Would I think it's strange as hell? Yes. Would I be careful with it and keep a weapon on me just in case for when it woke up? Yes.
Especially in Equestria where, if what we've seen is right, almost no species wear clothes except the rich that feel the need to flaunt their wealth, so who the hell would get clothes for an animal when the owner doesn't even wear any? Sorry, not trying to be mean or anything, this is just something that annoys me with most HiE fics where the Human is unconscious when he first 'meets' the ponies.
I hope the next chapter doesn't have him being unconscious anymore because it's just getting annoying.

I believe that Twilight had reached the conclusion that the human in this case was similar to Spike, as she describes him as a sentient being, whom is possibly an assistant to a unicorn such as herself, due to the "magical" device she had found in his backpack. I do agree that, thinking back, that is was illogical for the other ponies to assume that Gerald was a pet, as they are not the only sentient species that they know of. (although humans, especially this one with his bearded face, may look like an ape, which might not be sentient in their universe.) To address your last concern Gerald will be quite awake in the next chapter, forgive me if you have found it tiresome.

I shall be releasing a new chapter relatively soon which will hopefully be slightly longer than the previous two. Also regarding Gerald being a Gary Stu, rest assured that I have already developed some negative character traits for him. He is most definitely not a perfect human being.

So like you asked my thoughts so far.
Well first I like Gerald he might seem like a pompous noble at first but he can show kindness I mean if he was a vilain why bother helping the CMC ?
Second, about the story so far well the introductions with the ponies was good, he may have freaked out a bit but he didn't lose his shit
and well the interactions with the ponies is good so far but what is interesting is that diamond that he found, I suppose it has an important place in the story.
Third, what could be improved ... hmmm well so far I'm okay with the story, I don't see anything wrong but since the heart of the story hasn't been really revealed yet I can't really say.
Fourth, What will happen ... hmm well I would say that Gerald is going to be consumed slowly by the urge to have power and eventully, he'll snap and do something to obtain power he could for example try to court one of the princesses, organize a coup d'état with the help of nobles from Canterlot or politics battle dunno
Finally (yeah I know I say a lot
) this story has got me interested, I really wish to know what will happen next so keep out the good work and let's hope the next chapter will be out soon.
