A horrible mistake has Twilight Sparkle reconsider what she had learned about friendship. Reliving the hardest moments of her life as she is trying to report her own failure to Princess Celestia. Can she ever forgive her? Can she ever forgive herself?

Note:
I have written this story for a short story competition for our German brony board a while ago. Original story can be read here (in German)

I would've thought Twilight's first serious spell would be to learn how to drain water out of paper/parchment. Oh well, the more you know.

Anyway, I think this story is more Slice of life than Comedy, so maybe add at least that tag to it. But aside from that a nice short story. Not that expected anything less.

In truth I don't think Twilight is overreacting at all.

How would you feel if someone ruined one of Leonardo's notebooks, its contents never to be seen again?

...I think that dodge was so hard I've got whiplash from it!!

That said, VERY well played on that one, took all my expectations and threw a Cherry pie at me! Ultimately, very well done, well played, and the ending leaves me rather amused myself.

...though to be fair, while I know how Twilight gets about books...I wonder just how much WORSE she'd have been if the Group Teleport thing HAD happened? Some things are best left unknown, but we all know how the human mind wonders.

Anyway, great work, and best of luck in future endeavors.

Celestia you bitch! That's a cruel joke to play on Twilight!

5348216 Tag added, thanks for the note. I was unsure at what it would qualify. In the contest it was just a comedy.
And yes, I did the translation myself, also with slight edits from the original, but it's basically the same story. Some of the pacing was forced by the word limit I had to follow. I tried to shift a bit more fRom the long beginning to the end, but ultimately I wanted to leave it as close to the original as possible.
5348482 draining the water would still leave the sugar, thus making it sticky. Also draining water could be rather complicated as water is a content of every material, so you'd have to explicitly seperate which to drain and which not.
also thanks for the tag, I added it.
5349822 Maybe, but depends on which degree. I just waneed to write something about Twilight reacting to destruction of books. It sounded funny in my head so I chose that subject and tried to go a bit over the top with her.
5349922 Trollestia strikes again

I'd love a sequel to this.

I should've been more precise. A trained hermetic mage like Twilight usually learns sooner than later to gather up any excess water/liquid out of parchment/paper. Normally just for that occasion. Sure it would take an advanced/expert hermetic mage to do so but Twilight fits that bill.

i had not red it but i will

I was totally expecting that twilight had tried to teleport her entire group of friends and had some sort of horrific accident resulting in some gory, abominable mess. :rainbowlaugh:
