Anyone reminded of Dragon Age Inquisiiton?
Just from the picture... nothing else mind you.

5356282 That is Ornstein from the Dark Souls series. How is the story so far, if I may ask?

5356440 I'm afraid I have not read it yet.
I saw it, added it to my list and added my two cents worth.

5356856 well it is a redo of my first fic, and I hope you enjoy it.

5356927 Thankyou. It will be my read for tomorrow.

5357044 thank you. I hope you do enjoy it.

I love it so far, mang.
Keep it up :)

5356282 yes I know I'm replying to a old comment but the picture is the looking glass knights shield

7213918 Yay! You are the first commenter since I revived the story (kinda sad really). But I actually changed the picture to the Looking Glass Knights Shield since that comment was posted.

7213970 hahaha. It's perfectly alright. If it's not too much to ask; how are you liking the story so far? I am very curious what my readers actually think.

7214063 OK managed to read it and it's got me intrigued like the idea of rifts because.... Dark souls

So for the good team we have
Ornstein Knight of anor londo and student of the nameless King (gwyn's son)
Damien and quelarra (or something can't spell) who I don't know and I'm guessing artorias which would make manus the villian am I right?
The one thing I like is they can't speak to each other right away which never seems to happen in humans in equestrian stories so....keep up the good work

7214403 Thank you so much! It really is comments like these that keep me going when writing. Now there are some more that still need to be introduced, but I'm doing my best to keep the story interesting each step of the way. And I'm happy you agree when it comes to language. Most HiE fics gloss over that part.

7214445 your welcome there are spelling issues but I'm tired and probably won't be able to focus on finding them

7214453 Really? Dang it. Oh well. :D. Thanks for giving it an honest review.

7214516 your welcome but remember i was tired to the error might have been me seeing things

7215032 You know, I'm just glad someone finally commented. :moustache:

7215224 your welcome truth be told I was just randomly looking around the site and came to this story because of that one comment :twilightblush: oh well it's a good story just makes me wonder what's going to happen next two of the defender (ornstein and artorias) wonder who are the others (maybe the pony twins though I'm not sure I would count them as one)all ready to fight manus.....who is not the furtive pygmy (shifty eyes)

7215234 well I'm glad you noticed. And so far, everyone you've mentioned, Artorias, Ornstein, and The Twins, will have more chapters to them, as well as Damien and the Changelings.

7216844 yay then I shall be entertained while I wait to hang out with my friend so I can play the game (from my one and a half hour of playing....I can't parry worth shit)

7216854 I am working on the next chapter now. And each souls is different, but I'll explain the parry times in summary for each. DS1: The moment you press the button, with smaller shields like the target shield having more frames. You can even parry bare-handed instantly.
DS2: delayed parry for all shields, target shields still having longer parries.
DS3: The startup and time for parries varies with each item, with target shields having faster parries then medium shields, hand weapons having the best startup times for sight parries, and the katana special skill parry being instantaneous. Hope that helps.

I don't know about the rest of you people... but I'm just waiting for Havel to show up and tank everything =P.

So it appears that i'm the only one keeping track of this :twilightoops:
jk, glad to see this gettin updated while other stories are sadly left to dust :fluttercry:
keep up the good work.

Ps. i noticed a repetition during combat:
"He deftly sidestepped to the side at the last second," and immediately after " He went to strike again but diverted into a duck at the last second "
it kinda threw me off a bit, but besides that everything is perfect.

7592522 Wow, thank you for the comment! I only wish more people would leave their reviews. It is a great motivation booster whenever I see that someone felt like talking about my story. As for leaving it in the dust, I will continue to do my best to keep writing and not stutter off. I would say the hardest about writing is knowing where to put the next chapter, which character's storyline to continue, whose to continue to leave on a cliffhanger, vise verca.

As for the combat, thanks for the tip. It is a lot harder than I thought it would be to write a good battle scene that doesn't get repetitive at times. Now, off to edit!

No problem, i'm glad that this Dank Souls crossover continues and in my opinion is one of the good ones out there (unlike some other unmentionable ones with Artorias with modern/casual dialogue which i tried to forcefully block/edit it mentally, which turn out to be exhausting and made me to stop reading it).

Ps. Sorry for any misspelling, english is not my first language, therefore praise the sun.

7594297 PRAISE THE SUN!!! And that's fine. Your English is actually very good.

7645435 Don't worry my friend! It's not that I'm stopping the story! I'm just...reeeeeally unsure how the fuck to continue. Where should the next chapter start? Who should it involve? Why have I used so many cliffhangers?! Gahhhh!!! :flutterrage:

Any recommendations about what you want to see next would help. And if not that, then maybe the dlc for DS3 will help! I really do love this story (as it was the first story I ever wrote (and this is actually the complete rewrite)) and I want to keep it going. I'm just not...feeling it. I feel like I need to expand on the other sides of the story, but I'm not sure who. I feel like there needs to be more changes to the world, but enough time hasn't passed. It's a lot more complicated then I thought it'd turn out.

Maybe have the father and sister, Ariandel and Freide, be teleported to a room in Canterlot, Freide fights anyone who manages to walk into the room, eventually the events of the actual fight takes place.
It might take one or two chapters.

a great comeback after a hiatus of a story that I was seriously doubting

Again, reeeeeally sorry about that. I am glad you enjoyed the most recent chapter. It feels good to be writing again, and I will be working on the next chapter very soon.

8644609
I know how you feel. I wa only able to put up one fic based off of a cheese commercial. After that I wasn't motivated to write anything else.

PS, it was a one shot.

8645858
Well I can guarantee that the next chapter will be coming soon.

Y tho, why have some random edgy colored slightly OP characters?

8801607
Hmm... A: Dark souls is a land of darkness, despair, and sorrow, and I am trying to bring that to the MLP universe.
B: If you are referring more to Damien as edgy, those are the actual weapons from the game I like to use, and I am simply conveying what they are. Or doing my best.
C: As for being slightly OP, Damien would be, against these generic enemies. The Priscilla Lifehunt Scythe is a very powerful dex weapon as well as having the highest bleed damage in the game. Quelaag's Fury Sword also is fairly powerful against generic enemies, pyromancy as well. However, as the story progresses, there will be more powerful foes to fight, and Damien will hopefully come across as less OP. Hope that helps!

P.S: I think there are far worse examples of truly OP characters, but even some of those have good stories to them. So please don't judge my story, or any others, by just their characters.

P.S.S: Ohhhh...just realized what chapter you are replying from. I was younger then. I have better and different plans for the two siblings.

Looks like I need to research Dark Souls soon! I have heard of it, but have no clue what it is exactly.

Only one of the most highly rated RPG series around. The combat and feel for the game was so unique when it first came out that many an indie game has sprung off the idea. Also highly liked for its difficulty and hidden story. Hidden as in you have to go looking for it in the many items you find and piece it together yourself. If you are interested in the Souls game this story is directly based on/taken from, Dark Souls 1, the Remaster was very recently released for all systems.
