the frank

T

Due to consequences of an experiment gone wrong, Rainbow Dash has gained superpowers and has taken up the mask and the cape to bring justice and peace as Mare-do-well.

This particular day, in which our story unfolds, our hero comes home to an empty apartment, preparing for an evening of solitude and slacking. But things change quick! The maresignal lights up the sky! Some foul play is at work, and once again, the silent superhero must get into action to save Ponyville from the evil things threatening.

A bank heist/hostage situation is the works of Mare-do-wells archenemy, the only mare she never seems to catch. It is time for a showdown.

But is that really all there is to this story?

Inspired by Kim W. Andersson and his brilliant comic "Love hurts#12". And this Ponyville is pretty much a small Gotham city. Just so you know.
The cover picture is something I found on google, I don't know who the artist is. Sorry.

5345995 Wow, Thanks! :pinkiehappy: You just made my morning!

From the description: "This particular day, in witch our story comes unfolds,"

A spelling error and an extra word back to back. That's really not something you want to have in your description. Your description is the most important thing in getting people to read your work, which means that it's always worth while and very important to diligently read it over a few times before putting up.

From one Mare do Well writer to another:

Wow. I like this.

5347192 Well then, from me back to you: Wow, thanks!:pinkiehappy: I'll have to check out your stuff too then!

This is interesting... you definitely have my attention with this! :pinkiehappy:

So wait I'm confused about one thing. The rest of this makes sense to me but one portion confuses me. Is Fluttershy hinted to be Smiler or is it hinted to be Pinkie Pie?

5347192 Hey, it's you! That story has been on my list for a while! Cool...
5347543 Wiii! Thanks!
5347596 It's Fluttershy

5348077 Just re-read the chapter... I'm such a fucking derp.

5348468 It's ok. We've all been there. :yay:Besides, I was aiming for the reader to expect athe smiler to be Pinkie Pie and it works apparently

This is a pretty interesting concept. I'm not too sure how well this was executed, but you deserve props for tackling this kind of idea. I will say your writing structure could use a little work though. The beginning of this story drags a little, but things pick up mid way and most certainly towards the end of this story. Only sticking point is that this story demands that the reader just accept things as they are presented, and it's quite a big pill to swallow that ending.

Still a fun read though.

5353929 Thanks! It's a weakness of mine, always having twists in my stories, and when I get an idea that I like, I just write it and don't give a crap if it's believable or not. And I know it is much to ask of the reader sometimes. But your comment gave me ideas, I will do a small rewrite and add some subtle hints and at least imply some action in the first paragraph.

5354228
Cool! Glad I could help a little ^_^

5354311 Well, since you gave me ideas, I think it's fair to tell you that I have made some changes. Pretty subtle, but still.

5347543 Hey! It's you! You wrote city of Shadows! I loved that story!

5362374 Lol! Oh, wow! I didn't think I'd get recognized like that! XD Well thank you! :3 I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Oh, the making out those two will do when they get home.

I love it, makes me think of Catwoman and Batman

This was a good story, but it has one major flaw IMO. It doesn't have to be Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy in this role. For example you can use Spitfire as Mare-Do-Well and Lightning Dust as the Smiler.

Because it there is very little Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash in this story, IMO. Honestly, there is very little pony in this story as well. It could easily be two superheroes from DC or Marvel and you get the same story more or less.

5449268 I'm not really sure how I should respond to this. You are right in a way but...So what?

5449500

Well it's up to you if you think it's hurting your writing and needs to be fixed.

But personally?

I came to read about Rainbow Dash, not an OC wearing her name and face.

5451116 Ok. Well, thanks for stopping by anyway ! Oh, may I interest you in my other story I believe your wife is a vampire?

5451220

Sure, is it another pony fic or do you have it somewhere else? Like I said, you are a pretty good writer.

5451457 It's a pony fic. You'll find it on my page. I would have linked it but somehow I cant on my dumbphone... Thanks!

Looking at the title instantly made me think of this:

Well, that takes the 'Dating Catwoman' trope to a new level, considering they both know each other's true identity.

6953664 It pushed the ante up a bit, but If a republican can marry a democrat, a villain can date a superhero.

6953689
Yes, but usually, the hero and villain don't know each other's identity. Guess this is more of a playful game of cat and mouse.

6953791 Can't argue with you there, usually they don’t. Adds a nice twist to it, doesn't it? This is inspired by a short comic with this premise. And that one was pretty Bat/Cat inspired as well.
And that comic ended with one of them dead. ..
