My main criticism of this chapter is that I have no idea how Discord knew exactly who to look at near the end. It feels like you've missed a chapter where some of these ponies may have come up.
We know who they are, but Discord doesn't have any reason to.

It could be some memory bleed from the canon timeline or something inspiring him to look at these ponies, or he could be detecting their elemental connection, you don't need to say as such here, no matter the truth; it is just that as written, it is too random. It is apparent that Discord here has little if any conscious memory of canon (if that is your approach), so I think something needs to be said to the reader to avoid it seeming like some arbitrary coincidence that is far too convenient.
