This story is a sequel to Apple Bloom Brings a Paring Knife to School

Reading the prequel is recommended.

Hearth's Warming Day is approaching, and Luna is finally getting settled in to Ponyville so she can start to guide Sweetie Belle in her new magic. But with Discord's antics grating on everypony's nerves, the unprecedented return of the Nightmare Paring Knife, the sudden appearance of the extremely annoying but also oddly endearing Cor Cantae Amoris, and Sweetie Belle's increasingly uncontrollable magic, will this perfect Hearth's Warming be all it's shaped up to be?

Probably not.

This story takes place post-S4. Twilight Time does not exist in this universe.

Obligatory "That didn't escalate quickly." At least, probably not. It's all in the opinion, you know.

P.S. This is a reservation of the "first" comment so none of you little sneakies try to say that. :pinkiecrazy: Unless you said "first comment not by the author" or something like that. But no one would ever do that. You're all too good for that. Right?

I am inedible enthused, interested, amazed, fascinated, and spruced that you actually made a sequel. And that's even before reading it.

5404956 Thanks for the enthusiasm! I hope it meets your expectations. Especially since it'll be considerably longer.:raritywink:

First off, this.

Sweetie filled her plate up with fruits and munched on them as they trotted around.

Why are the fruits trotting around her plate? Why would she eat them?

Now that I have that out of my system, Lesson Zero (sniker sniker references) is amazing. A truly magnificent piece of work that has both slice of life elements, and builds a huge amount of backstory.

In short, color me impressed.

5405420 Whoops! Can't believe I missed that. Luna and Sweetie Belle are trotting around. :twilightblush: I'll fix that as soon as I finish posting this comment.
Well, that's high praise! I'm glad you liked it. I was originally going to release only Lesson Zero at first, but then I realised people might see that too differently from how I meant it, so I released both Lesson Zero and One at the same time. (Zero is the prologue.) Hopefully you find Lesson One just as good!

Oh sweet baby Discord in a can! s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/25/09/54/25095401ba99759384fc5b4dfee5b475.jpg
The paring knife returns! And so does oddly endearing mommy issues, repressed memories, and yet another unique history of this world.
Why did I assign myself to re-read Diaries of a Madman, when this story was here all along?

5412424 Unique history? I'm not sure I put any history into this chapter. The next has a lot of it though. (Unless you already read that one and you're just commenting on it over here, in which case you already know that.)

Well well well. An interesting story indeed. :rainbowlaugh:
Thank you for entering it in our little hearts warming contest. We hope you enjoy writing it.

Dragon san:moustache:

5416770 And enjoy it I have. Thanks for reading it! I hope you liked it (and will continue reading as it comes out!).

5412424 I hope I'm not being rude, but what did you think of the story, now that it's finished?

Twilight appeared above Baltimare

Wait, I thought she was going to Manehatten? Aren't Pinkie Pie and Discord in Baltimare?

5984575 Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. Although, how exactly did you happen upon this fic so long after its completion?

Wow, this was amazing! Good writing, interesting plot, a little psychology, CORRECT OLDE ENGLISH ON LUNA'S PART, in-depth history, understandable yet complex magic mechanics... this has it all! This is the kind of stuff I look for in a published book, not a fanfiction! Good job!

6144125 Thank you so much! I've been hoping for a comment with some feedback. I'm glad you like the writing--my editor and I worked hard on this. And I spent a lot of time on the lore and mechanics; I'm glad it paid off. THere's a whole lot more of that in the upcoming sequel!

This is the kind of stuff I look for in a published book, not a fanfiction!

Wow! That's some high praise. :raritystarry: Thank you for that! In the end I give all the glory to God, but I really didn't think that it would be that good in the view of others. This is a very pleasant surprise. Thank you very much! :yay:

Although, what part are you talking about concerning psychology? There are a few sections I can think of that might fit the bill, but it's been seven months since I wrote this, so I'm not certain. Care to elaborate?

6144676 I considered everything related to Sweetie Belle's hidden emotions psychology, as well as Amoris' lesson in loss. There are probably other examples too, but that's what's coming to mind right now.

6144778 Ah, I see. Thank you! I'm glad that what I did with those made sense. Once again, thank you for all the feedback. It is much appreciated. If anything else ever comes to mind, please don't hesitate to tell me--as you might have seen I've gotten very little substantial feedback. You're a breath of fresh air, really. :scootangel:

6145461 I'm happy to be of help! It's good to hear that my feedback is appreciated. Looking forward to the sequel!

6149535 I hope I don't disappoint. I've got 60k words down already--and there's a lot more coming.

I cannot believe it: you turned the silliest thing imaginable into a wonderful story of epic proportions. That was AWESOME!

6638837 I've found that I have a penchant for formulating logical lore out of just about any premise. Thank you! It was fun to spin both of these tales, and slowly but surely I'm spinning the next, which expands upon this lore even further. And of course, to God be the glory that I'm managing any of this at all. Thanks again!
