Look griffins aren't even in the story, but that's a good point.
Since all the ponies even though they are anthro, are still vegetarians. So eating animals are practically cannibalism since they're animals too, sorta- look all I can say is that it gets to that point so hold up and give me time to work on the story and it will all come full circle

Doesn't make it cannibalism though. Animals eat animals all the time, it's called the food chain. You wouldn't call a lion a cannibal for eating a gazelle. However if it ate another lion it would be.
Cannibalism is eating their own species, i.e other ponies. Just because a vegetarian animal has started eating meat doesn't make it cannibalism unless the meat they're eating is of the same species they are. (interesting fact, there are some vegetarian animals that will resort to eating meat if they aren't getting enough protein/nutrients in their diet. Deer for example have been observed eating small bird/rodents and even bits of carrion)
Murder yes, if these other animals are sapient like the ponies(regardless of whether or not the ponies are anthro), but not cannibalism.
