Almost instantly, the ponies smiled and returned to what they were doing, speaking amicably, going about their daily labors, dragging their carts to far off destionations, oblivious to the thin curtain of rain dribbling over their coats.
I just read Rainbow Dash: Re-Animator before this story, and it feels like a perfect follow-up. Rainbow Dash, forever the outcast raging against the dying of the light.
Worlds pertaining to their own, they fall and become again, becoming one in this tragedy. Within this space of illusion and discontent, may the misery only fall weak to nothingness.
So here Lyra is aware of the forth walls instead of Pinkie Pie?
To be honest? Looking inside a cardboard box that someone delivered on your door step wouldn't be out of character for anyone but the clinically paranoid or those expecting mail bombs.
You know? I do a LOT of meta horror myself. But the whole 'endless loop' really doesn't FIT with this. The endless loop can be plenty horrifying. But here, it just feels like it was thrown in just to BE THERE, and I don't mean that in the 'meta horror of RD seeing random fanfic bits' way. It takes me OUT OF the story, it doesn't draw me FURTHER IN to the horror.

LYRA'S FIRST NAME IS FANON FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE!
And according to HASBRO SOURCES Lyra is a musician! Not a teacher! This world lies to THINK it's pure, but in the end, it's as much a part of fanon as any others. Fanon isn't evil.
Is this what our characters think of us fanfiction writers? Do they realize when we are manipulating their personalities and forcing them into situations unheard of in the show? Do they experience this sort of hopelessness and inevitability?
Yes, they do. They perfectly understand how our head canons turn them into entirely different beings.
There is no resistance. Even the last light still loyal to herself, Rainbow Dash, will eventually succumb to the will of the narrative. For our own satisfaction.
Oh man the fourth wall is just straight up fucking gone right now.
I'm always up for some good old Pony Darkness Goodness. But I can already tell I'm going to feel like scum at the end of this... It was not a good idea to start reading this at three in the morning.

Except he isn't talking about every single story on this site. It's either one of these two.
1. - He's using the grim stories, the dark ones, not the normal ones.
2.- In this canon, all the stories author's write are bad. Not in real life, just in this story. Both make sense.
